Fraley, Stevenson and laird really had some leather. Some of the greatest catches I’ve ever seen.

Jared Mitchell I don’t think was as good an outfielder as any of the three we have now.

Sorry champ, Jared was fast as frick. I remember when Hawthorne said “Two thirds of the Earth is water and Mitchell covered the other third to get that ball!”

Yeah that was probably Mainieri's weakest outfield defensively.

I’m not going to get into judging greatness before the first pitch. There has been proven greatness in the field over the years. But I will agree that these three are proven ballers who have the potential to be great.

Joey Belle, Jack Voight and Michael Papajohn in 1987 were a very good group. Belle and Voight were Major Leaguers and Papajohn was an Outstanding Defender with blazing speed and an above average bat.

Hawthorne wasn't that clever. That was probably Hannagriff.

OF 6-14 .428 avg with 4 home runs and 11 rbi.

Just one game but not a bad start.

Well you know it’s just one game, but it’s kind of crazy Duplantis matched his last season hr total in one game and Cabrera had only 8 last year.

I am sure they will have ups and downs, but it sure looks like we will get more pop out of the bats from this group and that should translate into more runs. I could see Cabrera getting double digit home runs this year.

Yeah, I doubt we score 12 runs a game this year. On the other hand, I doubt we have a 7 ERA. Let’s just enjoy the wins and hopefully June will be a good month for LSU Sports.

Lol at anyone thinking leon landry is one of the best outfielders lsu has has. Dude got most of his hits pre-conference play.. He made a couple diving catches when he got bad jumps and people got excited.
Ill take the outfield of cooley, koerner, and justin bowles in like 95 or 96

That was horrible. Stony Brook's outfield played incredibly that weekend. Always shifted perfectly. Covering tons of ground. The contrast was striking. LSU's outfield didn't play terribly in games 1 and 2 but the wheels fell off in game 3.

I'll remind you that the 2009 national champions had Jared Mitchell, who was the CWS MVP, drafted in the 1st round, Mikie Mahtook, also drafted in the 1st round, and then Leon Landry, who may have been the best outfielder as far as running balls down LSU has ever had, who was drafted in the 3rd round

Mitchell couldn't hit shite till the post season. Leon never hit shite except the old metal wall.

This outfield is better if you look at the complete player. This is the best outfield we've ever had.

Yall are being old fuds. Nobody in the OF has been more clutch and consistent than Dupes, Randy(Watson), and Cabrera(second half of 18 season) since Princess was here.
