LSU has had fast, great defensive outfielders Mainieri's entire time at LSU and most if not all of them could hit.

Mitchell
Landry
Mahtook
Rhymes
Fraley
Foster
Stevenson
Laird

Dude stop.

He was the CWS MVP and a 1st rounder.

‘09 He batted .327, 14 doubles 50rbi 11hrs
36 stolen bases, 2nd in LSU history.

If you are going to use a word like retarded, please learn the meaning! Using words like this is very hurtful to families with retarded children because people like yourself throw the word around like it means someone is just stupid. As a society, we need to think of others because we never know when it will touch our lives and hurt us as well. Thanks.

He just had some really really bad classes from 08-10.

Why did you respond to this with his hitting stats?

Do outfielders not bat? And is hitting ability not a key aspect of a player's overall ability?

I am only writing what Mainieri said after the Stony Brook series.

In that series we had Mason Katz in center, Ralph Rhymes in left and Alex Edwards in right.

Mainieri was often quoted after that series saying we needed to get faster in the outfield Fraley, Seteveson andLaird were part of that plan, they came after Stony Brook.

So batting isn’t part of being an outfielder?

We’re going off pure catches now? Okay....Mitchell is still one of the greats. And I still choose ‘09.

What’s your point?

AND was as clutch in big time games as anybody to put on a Tigers uniform.

I wasn’t trying to be mean, just trying to educate. I have seen families with handicapped children that go through the misconceptions and just misuse of words and know how hurtful it can be when people really don’t mean anything by it.

Yes Michell was good. My bad,I was thinking of Foster who was a good player, not a great outfielder.

All that said, how about if we agree this year’s outfield could be among the best LSU has ever had? I

You need this question answered, too?

When people start mentioning GOATs by position, that typically takes into account their defense more than anything, especially when looking at the whole group. The specific post was mentioning Mitchell as an outfielder, not as a hitter. So posting his hitting stats was... retar... dumb.

Could? Sure. They would need to really bring it. Hope they do and we can say they were in late June.

When someone says, "I don't think he was a good outfielder," that typically is referring to their play in the outfield.

I can't believe this has to be explained. Some of y'all...

I agree 100%. But apparently we are wrong since they don't all have first round potential
