I think it reflects well on the players and their parents. They are being realistic and did their homework. If you don't get drafted in a certain round/position ($$) - go to college. If you buy into what the college experience is offering (which I'm glad most do) - then go to school & continue to develop as a player. Next year's BB roster is shaping up very nicely. Props to CJJ & his staff.

Keith Law has always hated college baseball and he continues to get more butt hurt every year as more high level prospects are going the college route.

Because it's proving a long held traditional baseball notion wrong that MiLB is the best route for young players out of HS.

The franchises are not having a hard time coming to terms with this. There is no franchise out there taking it as personally as Keith Law is. They simply take the name off their board and move the reports to the 2027 folder

I would think pro teams would be happy to see more players go to college. Gives them 3 years of evaluating them against higher competition while they are not on the payroll.

And it delays free agency for a lot of them.

While also outsourcing a lot of the washout that happens in the minor leagues.

You guys are being unfair to Law.
He is just pointing out that some of these kids seem to be looking out after their own interests, instead of MLB. And that kind of selfishness cannot be countenanced. Who is going to look after the interests of MLB which finds itself helpless and without any leverage.
Where are the parents when these decisions are made? Hate to say it, but often as not, they are siding with these kids...

Keith Law is an ultra-liberal, whining vagina who hates owners and team management, and is all about players and players' rights until his scouting buddies get fricked. He also hates most college baseball coaches and college baseball in general.

Ironic for a guy with the rainbow shite and pronouns on his profile to dislike the main place where his views are propagandized

Schmidt could have said “I’m not going pro” in January and everyone of those scouts would have still been at his games

The stupid part of that comment was that up until draft day the window was open for MLB to sweeten the pot. Evidently LSU-NIL closed the deal yesterday so he doesnt need to be a pussy about it. He is acting like this was a done deal 6 months ago. MLB got out bid in some shape, form, or fashion and it didnt have to be all money either.
