Like I said, take it for what it's worth.

The guy looks like he jumped into a hot tub and the water is boiling.

They probably say that because he's from north, way way north, of I-12.

For me I feel like he is playing catch up in this era of college football. He is having trouble adapting to the transfer portal. He’s also lost some coaches and is having trouble with some of his hires. He’s not a bad coach. I think this era is just not for him. He can’t build a program slowly like he used to.

good description, I've always gotten he impression that he felt this job was going to be a cake walk and he was going to coast into retirement going out with a Sabanesque finish, sort of like " hand me the keys to the Ferrari, I'd like to go for a drive"

The narrative that being an a-hole is unusual or bad is fricking dumb. I don’t think he’s doing a good job either.
But shite what coach isn’t a “gruff a-hole”? You want him to tuck you in and read you a bedtime story? Holy shite

Because he has been a fraud from day one. His doing his 'dance' with players showed just how fake he was and he continues to be fake...ie his pounding on the table episode. It is easy to spot a Fraud. If Saban pounded the desk, somehow we would all know it wasn't fake. He has no answers, and he will have to explain why not when this season is over, because our record and 10th ranking is a fraud, just like their leader.

I never said I had a problem with it. grizzly asked a question and I gave an answer based on what I’ve heard people say or hint to

It’s usually something to likes of “He’s a midwestern a-hole who is rude to the media and just doesn’t get us down here.”

But I bet if he was winning season openers and beating Bama on a consistent basis these same people would clamoring for him to be the AD after he ends his coaching career or run for governor

ETA I can see where my wording in my first post is misleading and making it sound like I had a problem with it. I should have worded that differently and said from what I’ve heard people say the gruff a-hole stuff is the reason.

Nobody gives a damn if he is Southern or not. Saban and Miles are from West Virginia and Ohio.

They were never blasted for being “Yankees.” BK is, for some reason. Just fans all up in their feelings I guess.

Saban wasn’t from the South, and he fit perfectly here.

People would embrace Kelly if LSU was dominating. Kelly doesn’t fit because we’re tired of watching his program always have a unit that is underperforming and isn’t winning at a high level.

Kiffin, a lil bit of a smart arse, but funny personality that will get on social media and make fun of everyone, including himself but can recruit his arse off and have donors bought in. He gets it.
And still hasn't won a thing.

BTW, Brian Kelly has donors too.

Certain styles don't "fit" into a culture. Louisiana has always had athletes and tough gritty players. We are a very finesse team which is a Brian Kelly style. Those who don't like that style or the product they are seeing are equating it to not being the right "fit." I am not here to say one way or the other but I do think that there are certain Coaches who can "fit" anywhere but there are also Coaches who belong to a certain style or location.

That is why certain folks questioned the Jay Johnson hiring because he was a "West Coast" guy. But what Jay has proven to be is a great recruiter, Coach, and developer of talent who can adjust his philosophy to the type of players he has.

He doesn't fit because we're spoiled and he's not. We didn't pay him enough so he can't relate to the median LSU fan spoilage.

Literally anything. I would also say calling the fans spoiled and entitled for being concerned about a bad offense is not a good look.

You can't satisfy LSU fans. Orgeron was hated, even during our best season ever, because many hated that he was "one of us". Kelly is hated bc he is "not one of us". Saban got hate, Miles got hate...Bo Rein was probably the only coach that didn't get hate from LSU fans.

His ND teams were the opposite of this

They won on D/special teams/and grinding teams down running the ball
Similar to this years team besides the running ball part

Perhaps its just me, but it feels like he’s talking down to 3rd graders when he is trying to not answer questions in press conferences. That and he just seems like a total a$$. I know one thing for sure and that’s that not many of us here would want him in our boats all day fishing with us or at the deer camp.

I went on a 3 day duck hunt with Les and his wife and daughter in SW LA right around the time he was fired. As much as I was exasperated with him as a coach, he was a decent guy to talk to. He even payed attention when we were “coaching” him to hit clays the evening before the hunt. I doubt he hit many birds, but his guide got their limit…. Not sure it would be the same experience with BK.
