Not many fired coaches from big jobs fall up. You get another shot at a shitty job that won’t work no matter how hard you try.
I think Billy Napier will be the best example of your theory. I can just about guarantee that is his story to the “T”.

LSU, where fired coaches dreams come to die.

I know everyone here loves Will Wade, but please explain how he’s done better since the left LSU?
He never coached past the Round of 32 at LSU, and he has never done better than that since. In fact he’s never coached a Sweet 16 game ever.
Most head coaches who get fired are done.

Off the top of my head, Pokey had an okay coaching career. I wouldn't really say she did better, but she didn't necessarily do worse.

But she got fired for off the court issues right?
She was and is a very good coach.

James Franklin might have the best shot to get fired from a major job and then work his way back.

O and BK are doing better. Don’t have to work and get a ton of money

Looking at D1, Napier. Fired at Clemson and then very successful as a HC at two different schools, before going to Florida, and …..

Our current head coach comes to mind, from the USC perspective

Yes. BK...a free 50+ million paycheck and doesn't have to work another day for it.

Johnny Jones has gone to 3 NCAA tournaments as a head coach since he was fired from LSU. Oddly enough, LSU has also gone to 3 NCAA tournaments since he was fired from LSU.

No, LSU is usually the end of the line
