Here is my list of backs at LSU:
If we’re gonna make list like these with Cecil on them then it feels like we should also include Guice. Guice was as special as anyone.

I love these threads that pop up every now and then that pretend Cecil Collins was this super human talent. There are at least 10 LSU running backs I would take over “the diesel
Did you ever see Collins play? Please give us your list of 10 LSU running backs you think were better than him in the games he played in.
This should be amusing.

Was a legend for about 5 seconds
I thought Jackson was going to be like Cecil but he was a non factor vs USC

That total in only 4 games, 596 yards, was nearly as much as Rondell Mealey had in 11 games in 1999 (637 yards).
There was a saying back in early '97: E(energy)=m(ealey)c(ecil)c(ollins).

Collins was awe-inspiring! 8.8 yds/play? Are you kidding me?

Hard to believe he made it to lsu considering he was a criminal in high school that was pushed through due to his athletic ability . Had a class with an attempted SA victim of his as a freshman , the same summer he had 3 more similar events . He’s lucky no one in those apartments had guns . Dude belonged in Angola from about the age of 16. Btw, he was good , but Faulk , fournette , guice, and hill were better .

I remember telling a friend in Texas that didn’t know about Collins yet that he was so good that it was comical. He laughed and thought it was funny but I wasn’t trying to be funny. You had to chuckle with the way he just kept doing it over and over. Like having a video game cheat code.

I still like Kaleb Jackson can be that back if not him, Harlem Berry will be the next great one.

Was at LSU from 95-99 so yeah
These 6 were easily better. Collins had a chance to prove those games weren’t flukes and never did it again. Y’all act like he never played in another football game again. There’s actual proof he wasn’t that good. Hell he was molesting people and getting caught in high school so getting busted at LSU shouldn’t have affected his production at all.
These 6 were easily better than Collins. I’d have to think about the rest but it’s 4:30am.
Faulk
Fournette
Guice 7.5 YPC!
Charles Alexander
Cannon
Hilliard

Collins played great in the small sample size he had at LSU
But to your point he did continue playing football and even had a shot in the NFL where he averaged 3.2 yards per carry
He isn't a top 5 LSU back

Not this shite again. Every year this board gets all wistful for Cecil Collins

A talent scout you are not. Even the players that played with Collins and Faulk said that Collins was the better running back.
