i cant believe they have that much faith in jennings arm strength. its kinda bad. im praying for harris to have what it takes. oh yeah, and rettig too. i like my qb to be able throw a football like...a real qb.

This!!!!! To me y'all are what's wrong with this forum...... Try and burn every single legit ? get a life. Some guys practice well and some play well? It happens, just put the guy in and find out? Mayb not this game but next year I think I would with the easier guys. Give a half to each? Or a quarter and who ever performs the best go with him. BH looks like the real deal

I can't really imagine ant first time starter would look good in that game.

We watched tap, saw we could run all over them, and decided that is what we are gonna do without our starting QB.

So we ran the ball and only passed on obvious passing downs, and they went with their weird package.

Not surprised Jennings didn't have an amazing game. But we won.

You can be successful at this level with an average arm. Not as big a problem as you think.

Jennings problem is he looked scared, more scared as the game wore on. You can teach a lot of things, but if a QB loses his confidence you've lost him

Just have to see how he comes out the gate next year. He looked like a HS kid playing in a college game last week.

begs the question though. If Rivers is that poor of a choice why is he still on scolly and the team. Is he being groomed as a coach then?

who said he is a poor choice. Apparantly the staff feels at this time Jennings is our best option. May not be that way come fall. Who Knows. Still have a whole spring camp and fall camp to go through before the first game. Anything could happen. Probably going to be a tough competition between the three.

game got a little too big for him

looked like the pressure got him rattled

hopefully he comes back and has the improvement mett did from 2012-2013 which was night and day

I think we all remember how terrible Flynn was when he came into the capital one bowl in 2005... or AJ McCarron when he came into the game in 2010 for the injured starter.

but you do wonder why he would stick around.

Not really. He already had to play cus Mett got hurt in 2012. If Mett gets hurt against tcu I would bet everything I own he would have came in before Jennings. Now evenif he is number 2, he's one play away from starting at LSU.

I think he can do it, just don't know if he will. I'm prepared for a 2010 type of offense next year though

i am very close with someone who sits in the coaches suite and this person has been told that rivers has plateaued and has been passed up.

as for why he is sticking around, not sure. regardless, the qb battle will be very interesting this spring.

Why can't you people get off the idea of Rivers starting?? It's not going to happen. He's just not good.

Rivers was an averagely rated 3 star QB that had plenty of questions about him coming out of high school. He hasn't done much in his time here and got passed up by a more talented player. It isn't a big mystery why he didn't start and I seriously doubt you questioned this before the bowl game.

Regardless. You are going to have an open 4 way competition this spring after which I fully expect at least 1 if not 2 Qbs to transfer. As they should.

Rivers has no chance at starting next year, and will not transfer

Now if AJ wins the starting role, and Harris gets the #2 spot, then Rettig will transfer

Rettig might transfer even if he gets the #2 spot

Rob bolden was the first true fresh to start a opening season game at Penn st. Not Nicholls or Mcneese, but Penn state! How is he not in consideration? Did he not learn one thing while there?
