Maybe that wasn't his job

All of this was orchestrated you see

The staff is full of guys that are likeable. Even if it’s subconsciously, it makes level headed guys like Charlie temper their criticism

I’ve listened to Charlie for 20+ years, he knows this is all bullshite. He needs to say it though.

Why are they hitching their wagon to Orgeron? He's not going to be here in 2 years.

And I'd like to think that everyone listening to them now will remember what they're doing and saying today, because this kind of shite will ruin reputations.

All this bullshite really does need to be documented now, because eventually when everyone DOES finally see the light, it will be a huge work of revisionism as everyone tries to go back and retcon their opinions.

You stated he's the te coach, how can he improve the qb's when he wasn't the qb coach? Stupid arse statement. He was never the qb coach.

Ensminger was visible on the sidelines on many occasions during the Jarrett Lee days, attempting to help/guide him.

I am certain he was more helpful than Miles, Crowton, etc., but he is definitelynot the answer to our QB problem.

The biggest problem is getting a kid with the kind of talent needed to commit to a program with LSU's history and QB resume.

Then, once that happens, who is going to develop him. You saw true FR last night that wouldn't have sat one game on the bench behind Etling, and you now have all of your eggs in the basket of 2 kids who sat a whole season behind him.

LSU FB is truly an exercise in futility

If LSU’s QB succeeds it will be because he was talented enough to overcome LSU’s lack of coaching talent at that position.

Uhhh, ya think? If anyone still was unsure of this, hiring his kid's HS football coach should have solidified that. SMH

We fired our QB coach and replaced him with the TE coach for fricks sake. That’s the point he’s trying to make.

It's not his job to be QB coach? So what, at this point. QB development is what we have needed for YEARS. I don't care if it's his job or his fault. he is now the 2nd face of a terrible decision to bury LSU's offensive capabilities even further into mediocrity. All the questions are legit, all the answers are non-existent. Nothing has improved on the coaching staff over the past week. Nothing. It's worse.

Well hopefully it is because he was the TE Coach at the time.

We can always hope right?

maybe the other coordinators were fantastic. He seems to be a common denominator through some underwhelming offensive performances. Maybe he has been the problem all along.

Are you suggesting Ensminger as TE coach sank all the previous offensive coordinators,
Les Miles, and now Ed Orgeron?

Is this entire thing a scooby doo episode, where we tear the bad guys mask off and...surprise- it’s Ensminger!

Youre right.
If he had ever been a successful coach and ran successful program. Which he hasnt so youre wrong.
I think you are forgetting that no matter who you are no matter what job proffesion you are in you will be judged on previous transgressions.
Ole miss is the only place you can see how he ran a program that was his fully and its looking like a repeat buddy.
So no he does not get that luxury with out criticism.
We literally have no offensive coaches any P5 in the country would touch minus maybe Tommie.

Think maybe there is a reason 2 different head coaches had him at TE coach instead of QB coach?

He was our QB coach ofr part of 2016. The last time he coached QBs before that was 2003.

According to this article he will improve a lot of things over the last four OC's.

Steve Ensminger in 2016 was LSU’s best OC of last decade

Coach PPG YPG RYPG PYPG
Gary Crowton (2007-10) 31.2 366.8 175.2 191.6
Greg Studrawa (2011-12) 32.9 364.3 188.7 175.6
Cam Cameron (2013-16) 31.0 417.5 223.9 193.6
Steve Ensminger (2016) 32.0 464.9 253.6 211.3
Matt Canada (2017) 27.2 411.1 207.6 203.5

Hard to recreate the table correctly but you can see in the link more clearly their point.

Hannigriff was sort of trying to play it both ways, that way he is safe from criticism, noting that the selection of Ensminger will improve LSU's passing, and Orgeron's selection of coaches are cause for concern.

Ott was 100% in the Orgeron's camp.
