Bradie James

There was a play in the cotton bowl agains Texas I think where roy Williams looked like he was gone and I watch James chase him down from behind all the way down the sideline.

Just a great athlete.

Ima say brooks.

Tepper would have looked like a genius coaching him.

If this board had an older group of patrons, we might hear Billy Cannon's name mentioned a bit more. Yeah, he was an LB too!

I think it was a knee injury that messed Brooks senior year up and evidently didn't hurt his NFL career. Great Tiger Linebacker.

George Bevan was the Honey Badger of the 60's. An undersized middle LB that made every freaking play. It seemed like he was everywhere!!

George Bevan was one of the best linebackers to ever wear a tiger uniform. All the guys that have been mentioned, were outstanding linebackers, but Bevan was a stud. He was fast and could hit like a freight train.

Im cool with the OP's post. Never saw Cappone and would have to have a Top 4. Minter belongs right next to those other guys. Its Brooks and the other 3 for me. I'm still not sure alot of Tiger fans understood just how good Minter was. Most underrated Tiger Superstar. Just look at the Florida game if u think he played with so much talent.

[quote]Allen Stansberry Probably not the greatest ever if I looked at it without bias...but he's my all time favorite LSU player so I had to give him a mention[/quote

He definitely comes to my mind first

Yep, correct me if i'm wrong but I think Al Richardson and Bradie James are the only 2 players in LSU history with 400+ career tackles.

I was at LSU from 08-11 and it's Sheppard for me. Although Minter is a close second.

Oh, it hurt his NFL career badly. Mike Brooks was Hall of Fame level before, and borderline All Star after, his injury.

Duhe was a great one, and arguably had the best NFL career (an argument could be made for Hill) but IMHO if Brooks had not had the horrific injury, his would have been the best NFL career, and when he was healthy at LSU I don't think there was any better...ever.
