The whole damn stadium pointing and screaming “Tiger Bait! Tiger Bait! Tiger Bait! in unison when a hated rivalry opponent like Ole Miss took the field.

The Golden Girls doing a seductive dance while the band played “ The Stripper “ at the end of the game.

The drums beating and the crowd yelling “Go! Go! Go Big Tigers! Go! when the offense was making a key drive during the game.

Nah, you're just lazy and ignoring it's non-binding verbal commitment.

Dan Borne announcing scoring updates and final scores of all the college football games. This is before cell phones and personal access to scores. You were cut off from the outside world for the day. You listened closely in anticipation of the scores you wanted to know, and would frantically hush anyone talking g around you preventing you from hearing the score.

"Final score....Notre Dame 31..... Miami... 30" -crows goes wild

"In the 3rd quarter....Nebraska 63...Purdue....nothing" -collective gasp from the entire stadium

The best one ever was when Stanford beat USC in 2007.

When everyone realized an LSU win over Florida meant LSU would be unanimous number 1 the place went bananas and it carried through the rest of the game.

tru dat

I was at that game - and it may have been the most exciting final quarter of any game - only other game in contention was Cannon's Halloween run in '59.

The best Tradition that LSU lost is having Mike make the rounds inside the stadium before the games.

I talked to someone who worked with Dr. Baker when they did the last few games of Mike VI in the trailer. They said Mike had no issues in the trailer until the first time they did fireworks as the team comes out the tunnel. Said it freaked him out and he stopped climbing in the trailer like before. They pleaded with Alleva to stop the fireworks, and he said no.

So another loss to chalk up to the corporate environment.

The band playing at every timeout instead of recorded music, usually played at ear-splitting volume through shitty speakers.

Im gonna be there till the end in the NEZ, but it really is disappointing to see the blue hairs on the 50’s and the student section decimated in the 4th.

Hell the old hands start heading home to the evening news after half.

Also, Mike making his rounds. Just give me Mike in his trailer again and idgaf about the rest.

Absolute perfect storm. Had it happened any later, it would have been when everyone had smart phones and thus would have already known the outcome.

How has the option for paid tailgating negatively affected your (or anybody’s) gameday experience?

I have not noticed a difference where we tailgate at. I think some people complain about the paid tailgating just because it exists.

The fireworks are generic stadium razzle dazzle. Just loud noise the entertainment programmers think modern attention deficit types needing constant stimulus demand for a good stadium experience.

We once enjoyed a truly intimidating stadium. Now we have Six Flags.

Honest question. How has the option for paid tailgating negatively affected your (or anybody’s) gameday experience? I’m truly curious. Like were you booted from your normal spot? The area that is reserved over by PFT is so minimal.

It’s not the “paid tailgating” that is the main problem. It’s the paid/reserved parking almost everywhere that has ruined the party. If you can’t park vehicles with equipment, trailers, kegs, etc. then you can’t tailgate. (at least not in the extravagant way LSU fans did for years)

The whole stadium chanting in unison Go to Hell Ole Miss circa 1960s early 70s. That was really something to hear.

Mike at the games.
7:00 kickoffs
Parking ala 1990s
Games that lasted just over three hours
The primary music was from the band

Unfortunately I don’t see those things returning.
