How has the option for paid tailgating negatively affected your (or anybody’s) gameday experience? I’m truly curious. Like were you booted from your normal spot? The area that is reserved over by PFT is so minimal.

You must not remember how awesome it was to walk through campus before the changes. It was a massive party and the crowds were incredible. Today, they limit the number of tailgates and it’s much more sparse as you buildup to the stadium.

I understand some of this is a safety thing, but i really miss the early 2000s especially between Highland Rd and the Stadium.

I would be okay with them doing an early pass and then having him out of the stadium before the fireworks go off.

Win win

The Battle for the Rag

I'm way too young to experience what it was like to have a hated in-state rival like Tulane. We didn't even get a lopsided rivalry like Tenn-Vanderbilt. It just ended and will always be a big what-if in terms of having a main rival to LSU in the SEC.

Yelling "Tiger Bait! Tiger Bait! Tiger Bait!" (instead of booing) when opposing team takes the field. And staying till end of game.

Being a mediocre football program through the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s.

Main issues with people staying till the end is this. A 6pm kickoff: you get to campus a minimum 2 hr before kickoff with no tailgating with tailgating your there by 12pm. Then you get in the stadium by 5-5:30. The after 3 hours your still in the third quarter. So even leaving after 3 quarters you don’t get home until 11. If you stay until the end your looking at getting home 12-1am. And that’s a 6pm kickoff. Games are WAY to long. 3-3.5hr should be the max not the min of a game length

Wearing only the gold helmets. Hopefully, the white helmets are history with a new coach.

not only staying till the end but showing up at all - so many empty seats in the lower east and west sections the entire game. The seats next to me have only been used for 1 game in the last 3 years and yes they are corporate seats. It was embarrassing to see that thrilling last second great win over the Aggies last year on national tv with a mostly empty stadium

Yep and it’s just one of many spots that’s either been blocked off to parking completely or is now reserved parking. The parking on sides of Nicholson used to fill up at 4:00PM the day before big games and it would be a shite show of the wildest tailgates.

Games that started at 730pm and weren’t dragged out by endless TV timeouts.

The band played music because there weren’t 15 minute breaks between downs. Fans stayed engaged and cheered. There wasn’t time for a never ending parade of on-field introductions.

Everyone wasn’t bummed out by crappy sampled music clips. These are used because the game is so delayed with endless timeouts, they think the crowd will lose interest.

Restaurants stayed open after games and were packed.

You can blame the “corporate tickets”, but the whole choreographed game experience has changed dramatically, no matter who walks in the door.

Tiger Stadium would have never developed its reputation based upon what passes for the modern game day experience.

This X 1,000!

I can't tell you how many steaks I've eaten at Ruth's Chris after a football game at midnight. I remember eating about 1am after a Tennessee game. Oh, and the time given for the reservation? "After the game". It was awesome.

As a kid in the early 70's, I hated it when our fans would boo the opposing team running onto the field. Fans booed more than they yelled Tiger Bait back then. Tiger Bait was what I'd hear outside the stadium.

I miss the students in the stadium dorm leaning out their windows leading the fans below in cheers, GOOOOOOO TIIIIIGERS!!!!

Fans walking around TS with protest signs "Help Mac Pack"!!!!

I don't remember dodging puddles of puke in the 70's. Perhaps I've suppressed that memory.

I do remember driving to campus 3 hours before kick off and always finding a parking spot at the Student Union.

Hearing Dan call for "Doctor #125, please call medical exchange" and telling my Dad they'd be calling my number one day. (I remember a doctor sitting behind us one game hearing that call and telling his wife "I hope they don't call my number tonight." They didn't.)

Finally, and this is a very vague memory, but remembering ladies wearing dresses and high heels to the game and men wearing ties and sports coats.

Ditch the fireworks. Bring back Mike.

I remember a big Auburn player running out before the game. He thought he would be a badass and run over by Mike. Mike roared and pounced at the player. The whole trailer rocked back and forth. I thought that Auburn player was going to go back in the locker room to clean out his pants if you know what I mean. One of the funniest things I have seen in TS.

Do you even hotel bro?

Why would you want to drive 3 hours right after a game?
