Wether you are for it or against it, why the hell is the Governor getting involved?
Posted on 9/3/24 at 10:37 pm to Mr Roboto
I agree with the Gov on this one.

He’s such a moron. He thinks stupid shite like this is seen as important by voters. He thinks very little of Louisiana, but we did elect him.

He seriously needs a ‘time-out’
He doesn’t appear to be in touch with anything.

I love this thread! It has exposed all of the outright and closeted libs in one fell swoop. Excellent!

It’s political theater. I don’t know much about this guy but if that’s what he’s making headlines about then I’m sure he’s doing jack shite else good for the state.

I agree with Gov on this one. This was great to see when I was younger. The pussification of the USA needs to stop.

As a person who votes mostly republican he’s taking stands on the dumbest issues. I agree with the Ten Commandments but religion shouldn’t be pushed in public schools. What happens if the next governor is a Muslim? I loved Mike being in the stadium but PETA is just asking for a reason to protest him on campus.

LSU follow strict rules regarding its sanctuary . If it doesn’t follow those rules, LSU won’t get another Tiger.
There’s a lot of misinformation that seems to be ingrained in the collective tRant-brain, but let’s clear up some of those misconceptions:
Nobody told LSU they were ORDERED to stop bringing their Tiger to football games - there was some chatter about it being labeled as “abusive” from animal rights’ groups such as PETA, but Mike's habitat being designated a tiger sanctuary was never conditional on banning game attendance … (I don’t even think there’s any agency that has the jurisdiction to tell us what we can and cannot do?).
Yes there are some endangered wildlife laws, and certain criteria to being designated a “Tiger sanctuary” that allow some exemptions for owning a Tiger, but we did not have to “make promises” that we wouldn’t take Mike to a game, as part of a deal to be allowed to get another tiger… We VOLUNTARILY made concessions to some animal rights’ advocates- even if LSU somehow lost its “Tiger sanctuary” designation, that wouldn’t authorize anyone to forcibly remove our tiger from his habitat against our wishes.
No human being made the decision for our LAST Tiger to stop attending games- that decision was made by MIKE (was it VI?, and now we’re up to VII?)- he used to enjoy his trailer rides through the fans and into the stadium, but when they started shooting the damn loud fireworks explosions off right next to his trailer in the middle of the field , he was visibly frightened, and stopped voluntarily getting in the trailer- when a 450lb tiger doesn’t want to get in a trailer , then who’s gonna make him? Without the addition of fireworks to the spectacle, we probably wouldn’t be having this debate…
When Mike VI indicated he didn’t want to go to the games, we initially said if he didn’t WANT to go then no-one was going to make him; it became a weekly thing- did Mike get in the trailer for this game or not? After a time of declining the invitation to go for a spin, we announced that MIKE didn’t want to go to games anymore- again, NOBODY told us he couldn’t go to games…
Amid all the whining and handwringing about getting a new tiger after Mike VI died, we VOLUNTARILY announced we wouldn’t ask the new tiger to go to football games… Nobody can stop us from saying we changed our minds, that if the NEW tiger wants to go for a ride in his trailer on game days, then he will be ALLOWED if he wants to… and we promise not to frighten him with explosives. FFS.
Anybody who’s ever had a dog that went nuts with excitement upon being asked if they he wanted to go for a ride should understand that it would NOT be “animal abuse“ to take our Tiger for a little spin around campus and a lap around the field on a few fall Saturdays a year- MIKE VII DESERVES THE OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE THAT DECISION FOR HIMSELF! I truly believe that he would enjoy the change in scenery and routine, like the last guy did before the fireworks spoiled the tradition.

Mike V went around the field for every game during his life. Mike V lived almost twice as long as Mike VI who they stopped bringing to the games to protect him.

This is the best news I’ve seen all month. I don’t know anything about Landry but I definitely support Mike the Tiger on the field.
you now know everything about Landry. he’s great at throwing red meat to low information idiots.

How does the thousands of people who visit him daily, weekly and around the year in his enclosed habitat effect him as well?
That has go to to be stressful to him as well right? Just asking .

This has nothing to do with the political spectrum. Only a nitwit thinking a tiger being paraded around in front of 100,000 screaming fans is good for tradition.

Geez, the dude has no common sense. He's not alone in speaking before thinking - two other very prominent politicians in our current time do it all the time, but this guy is really using all his stupid up early.

Just another thought but what if Mike is brought in just for a lap at some point in the game and brought back to his habitat without parking him in the stadium? He wouldn’t be present for fireworks.
I bet the crowd would go crazy if he entered in the 3rd or 4th quarter just for a lap. Would probably keep people past halftime too.
Although most won’t comment on these Mike post because of the crazy animal people… there’s a lot more of us “bring back Mike” than yall know. Mike would be fine…
