G/P/G looks great though and is at least fractionally traditional as G/W/G.
I like gpg better but I see where gwg is the fan favorite.

But if tradition is THE reason we commit to 10/12ths of the season to gwg as well as it Ben g the favorite,, then there is zero need to ever commit to these ever again:

Let Nike only tweak the two traditional uniforms. Not ruin our brand like these other attempts to make money.

Some of these actually look way better than these:

The above are what happens When your desire to be relevant again outweighs your opinion of your brand .

You think thats what 18-22 year olds are thinking? Yall put way too much emotion in what uniforms are being worn.

Exactly.
Alabama over the last 15 years told their 18-22 year olds that their brand was more important than their Desire to wear “hot fire”. Those 18-22 year olds put their vanity away and still performed well on the field with just two uniforms.

I would ask if you get it but.

I’m already forecasting “we aren’t Alabama” posts from you.

I like the traditional uniforms fine, but I don’t mind seeing a change up a couple games a year. I think the purple helmets with a gold and white stripe down the center would look good.

I’m actually shocked we haven’t done an all white or some version of a secondary uniform yet. I like that Kiffin had stuck to tradition so far. These SEC games are beautiful from a visual standpoint when both teams are in traditional unis. Ole Miss loves their powder blues but I really wish they would’ve done their traditional navy/grey.

Our tradition is to wear purple, gold and white. Purple jerseys aren’t an alternate, they’ve been worn forever.

The once a year alternates seem traditional to me at this point. And some are slicker than goose shite to be honest. The gold with fournette is a beautiful gold, for example.

Alternates more than once a year are an offense, however. And with us having 9 conference games, I wouldn't hate GPG for any home non conference game maybe outside of power 4 games.

I love the G/W/G and the G/P/G looks really good - close second. The only other occasional uniform should be the all white. It does look good. I dislike any uniform with purple helmets, purple pants, or gold jerseys.

No, I dont shite either way... but you guys act like LSU is rolling out alternate uniforms 4 or 5 times a year. 10+ years ago you saw a lot more if it from LSU. Not lately...

So whats the point of this the same tired conversation.

They usually wear all whites once a season or maybe W/P/W. Thats it!

You think people older than college students care what the players think? You consider the opinion and the emotions of kids who don't pay the bills and never have.

That our brand doesn’t need alternate to gain any other notoriety.

Purple jerseys were a very rare occurrence so to see us wear it was just that- then the ncaa ruled that home teams had to wear dark jerseys and we got an asterisk put behind that rule when Jerry dinarso got the ncaa to agree it was ok to wear white if the visiting team said so- well guess what? Almost all of our opponents wanted to wear dark jerseys so he brought back the magic and we have been wearing whits again since then.

frick off with all of this.

Bama, Texas and USC are the only programs that haven’t worn alternates in recent memory. Bama DID do a Nike Pro Combat back in the 2010s, but it wasn’t much different than their typical. Every other “traditional” program you would try to hang your hat on has in just the last 5 years.

No one else, even Bama and USC, has the potential to the same uniform for an entire season. Neither wears white at home, so they have different home and road uniforms. We don’t, hence the need to inject some variety. Even Nick Saban hated this and brought back the Purple jerseys for one game per year because the players wanted SOMETHING.

Was this taken too far the last two years- sure. But as long as we aren’t deviating from school colors like UT and A&M did yesterday, and limiting to one or two alternates per year, then there isn’t an issue. We will probably wear all white on the road for a game this year. We’ve seen the purples twice for the non-cons and that’s a good balance.

Here’s another way to look at this- every jersey variation, whether it’s a throwback like we had a few years ago, or a gold that pops up occasionally, is more money for the program. A program that we know needs funds to pay off debt from firing coaches, paying buyouts, and rev share. Every new variation sells more jerseys and makes money. This is NOT a bad thing, especially with shitty-looking Adidas out there throwing more money than we get from Nike at UT and Ole Myth to make a splash.

Correct.

Gpg
-and-
Gwg

Are the tradition.

You’ve got clowns coming in here saying we need SOMETHING different.
No we don’t.

Let these clowns go pull for western Kentucky with chrome Helmets.

It’s silly.
