Ah yes, Louisiana’s favorite “one of us” approach.

I hate it here. Lol

Whit making that TV money. He probably has no interest in coaching.

Kevin Mawae on the other hand...

He has a sweet gig working for Prime on Thursday nights.

Go convince Mawae. He'd do it if only we would ask.

Why do people think ex Tiger greats would automatically make great coaches?

I could just as easily ask why he wouldn't?

It’s funny NFL staffs are full of recent ex players who are very good but don’t mention hiring one here, the fans lose it. One of the weirdest things on the Rant

Because they’re simpletons who can’t think past going out and getting an LSU guy rather than getting the best possible candidate.

If Mawae hadn’t played at LSU, zero people would want him.

It’s like owning a business that needs a salesman and the first thing you think of is to hire a guy that went to your high school for no other reason than he went to your high school.

He certainly could, but it’s a huge gamble.

Because he’s unproven. He’s never coached before.

I could just as easily ask why you wouldn’t make a great offensive line coach.

Only reason I thought of him was BK just hired Kyle Williams and he seems to be doing ok.

we don’t honestly know if he would or wouldn’t.

i’m personally not a fan of giving a guy his first ever gig as a coach and just assuming he’d be great because he was a great player.

Why the hell would he stop doing that sweet Thursday night gig for this?

Also, he’s one of the most gifted tackles ever and is freakishly large. I think the reason why someone like Kyle Williams is a great coach aside from his leadership abilities is that he was never one of the most talented or freakishly large humans. He had to learn technique.

He was previously coaching high school and the opening was very late, so options were limited.

Maybe because he has a contract with Prime to do NFL games on Thursday nights.

Whitworth has ZERO coaching experience, but Mawae does. (With several NFL teams)

That has been my suggestion. Mawae with Centers and Guards. Whitworth with Taclkles.

That is, until Sam Pittman was fired at R-Kansas.

If you're not going to BEG Pittman to come in and coach the OL for the reminder of the 2025 season, then get Mawae/Whitworth (And all the NFL Pro-Bowl experience) to come in.

I don't get the "Vibe" that BK9.9 is going to do ANYTHING though. He's going to leave it as is and "Sink or Swim" with the results. Stubborn Captain Kelly going down with the Ship.

Neither is Whitworth. He was a player; not a coach.
