Not aiming at anyone, it’s well know this silly premise has been on the Rant for a long time

I don’t disagree with that, just pointing out that the premise of “an ex player that doesn’t have a 10 year resume can’t be a good position coach” is ridiculous. Facts prove it

Oh. And I know a helluva lot more about coaching than you.
Then maybe you should nominate yourself to coach
You’re taking this a wee bit personal, do you hire just hire people from your high school/college? There’s probably 400 people with a better offensive line coaching resume than mawae or whitworth, but they melt your heart bc they went to LSU. Maybe we should have OBJ come and coach the receivers too…

Sure, but why not start as an analyst and work your way up. The premise that a guy played here so we should boost him to the front of the line is idiotic.

You can sure, but often they just jump right in after a short retirement period. Happens all the time. These old vets who get into coaching are often doing it while they’re still technically playing and a lot of them are kept on rosters for that reason.

Why isn’t mawae currently an offensive line coach at the collegiate level?

You’d have to ask him. He coached in the NFL and college up until recently

He was an assistant position coach for 2 seasons and a tight ends coach for 1 on a horrid staff that went 4-12-1. If he was anything he’d be employed.
