My priority list

1. Godwin
2. Jarrett
3. Johnson

Rationale for Johnson at 3 is he currently coaches at a college baseball blue blood and achieved the results he has, I think if he comes to LSU without a WS championship, we’ll receive more of what we had with Mainieri post-2009: many great seasons, years of contention, no trophy from Omaha. He’s the most predictable of the three candidates but I want the hungry young coach who worked his way through the ranks to reach the top job of this profession: coaching a blue blood like LSU and brings that hunger and work ethic with him.

The only reason people like him is because he's doing the wrestling "fight" with Dick Vitale for ratings and then people felt bad for him because he got let go

That's not... I guess Vitale does have his fan boys

He's not anymore connected than the rest of the media.

Nothing I posted was about him being connected especially when he himself said that nothing was getting out of the ADs office and no body knew anything

He still does it... everyone in the media does it.

And people think he's fighting the good fight against Dickie V, and maybe he was at first, but it has turned into First Take faux yelling matches for ratings.

Oh cool another possible JJ into LSU. Hopefully a good one if he is hired. I remember Johnny Jones
( JJ):( aweful hire I remember Jordan Jefferson (JJ) not the greatest but had some horrible offensive coordinator and QB coach at the time. And now another possible JJ coming to LSU in Jay Johnson. I sure hope he is good. The only LsU JJ I can remember was damn good was Justin Jefferson

Huh? I can't stand Dickie V.

But's it not hard to figure out that Jordy uses him as the Skip Bayless to his Stephen A. everytime he brings him on his show now.

Doesn't mean anything anymore. Nationwide recruiting is the norm now, not the exception. Coaching philosophies are adaptable, but the game doesn't change. Recruiting, pitching, and hitting, and judging by his past at San Diego and Arizona, Johnson has done very well.

Why do people post articles that are behind paywalls? Just give the cliffs. I'm not even giving an email address to read azz clown Guilbeau.

The only thing that worries me about JJ is after checking his recruiting rankings and where he dips into for his recruits. All of his recruits are from California and Arizona. None of his recruits from 2018-2022 are from the Southeast. Besides that i like the way he coaches. If we could get some coaches to come along with him that are familiar with this area i would feel a lot better about him

this is such a reach. He's in Tucson. Why would he focus on the Southeast. Calif and Phoenix is the natural recruiting grounds for him.

Why, and how, would he recruit the southeast when he’s located in Tucson, Arizona?

For real.

I really doubt this is true, GG is a fricking idiot. The amount of smoke surrounding Vitello from both LSU and UT is too much to dismiss.

I still think it's Vitello, and this is a soft ultimatum for him to make his choice TODAY.

My only concern with Johnson would be if he continued to try to recruit primarily in California/West Coast after we hired him.

There is no indication that he would do that though.

I want someone to make the case for JJ for me, I’m very confident in the 1-2 I listed but to me, on its face, JJ comes off a guy currently at a blue blood achieving Mainieri results.

Go.

Agree. His contacts over there wouldn’t go to waste but I would like to see him continue to go to the North and Midwest to find difference makers. Regional recruiting would take care of its self as long as he works, and it seems like he does.
