A thread last night was spot on. Guy has seemingly decent stuff on the mound and can throw strikes, but nothing that screams he should be this dominant. I think he just intimidates opponents

Ice water in his veins and he pounds the strike zone

A 12-6 curve is not easy to hit when you have good control.

He has an above average curve he can land for strikes consistently.

Collins is the same when he can drop the hook for strikes. That’s hard to hit when you have to respect a 90 mph fastball behind it.

Either one of them can’t land the curve for strikes, they will come out on a short leash.

Curve balls are hard to hit for most college players.

Pure Bulldog. His demeanor on the mound reminds me of Orel Hershiser.

Of course we should enjoy his current success and how his pitching has tremendously helped this team down the stretch. I hope he gets to show more from the mound over the next 2 weeks.

But, what does this mean for him next year? Will he move to a position (2B/SS) or remain a pitcher only?

He’s got the makings of possibly being a killer. Will be fun to watch how he develops moving forward

I think he's our next short stop and won't pitch unless we are desperate in a regional or something for an inning.

It's crazy that we have Guidry, Jones, Kling, Shores, Herring and Neal for at least two more years. Jay is going to have great teams for years to come.

I remember a game a couple of months ago where Bryce Collins had his curve ball working, and threw almost nothing but 12-6 breaking balls. Nobody could hit it.

Guidry seems to have a bit more co trom on the curve and more movement on the fastball.

Jay Johnson told the story where Gavin Guidry popped his head into Jay's office after he had learned that Wes Johnson as leaving and said, "Hey coach, doesn't matter who's calling the pitches, I'm going to strike them out. Have a good night."

He has a pretty elite breaking ball. I've heard it called a slider and called a curve. But it is a very good pitch that is why he throws it 67% of the time and only throws his fastball 33% of the time. But yes his competitive fire is a great combination with his talent.
