Yup and with both there I think that will nix just about all of the parking.

I'm guessing no trailer parking as well.

What will they do with the student sponsored tailgating?

I wonder if gameday will try to roll the salute into their coverage at all and try to big respectiful as possible especially with corse being an proud ex-navy coach.

You could easily knock out a solid 15/20 with interviews, sob story segments and commercials. Then show the cannons going off and what not

Good point.

The impact from fans trying to access GameDay area from all parts of campus and crossing the parade ground would be a concern.

What are the chances LSU Salutes starts at 7:30 or 8 instead of 9? That would help things a bit

Yeah they also rope off a large portion of the parade ground and prevent people from setting up tailgates around the ceremony until its over. They also dont allow people to walk behind it.

Saturday will no doubt be a clusterfrick.

And not allow people to set up tailgates in that area until 2-3 pm? No way

Good bit of it is already going to be off limits due to Gameday.

Tailgates have always been able to setup as long as they were outside of the Salutes area. They just couldn't play music.

If any adjustments need to be made they should be by Gameday, not the veterans. End of story.

So are you saying that Gameday should adjust their setup location on the Parade Ground or time of the broadcast?

Clarification to previous tweets:There'll be meeting today to talk GameDay's location. Gurie wasn't aware of meeting & isn't involved in it

Clearly he is saying the location. There is absolutely no way gameday can change the time of the broadcast. There are way too many moving parts

Given that Gurie isn't in the meeting this afternoon. I'd venture to guess that they are working on an alternate location for Gameday.

But its been on news, radio, facebook, twitter as of Sunday afternoon and the salutes were not aware it was coming?

Don't know why you guys keep acting like LSU Salutes was the surprise here. Why did LSU not communicate with Gameday that the Parade Grounds would be unavailable due to a commitment to conduct this ceremony? As already discussed and further spelled out in the link below, the date for LSU Salutes is set once the football schedules are set (isn't that like 3 years in advance?) and the location is always on the Parade Grounds. The surprise is Gameday which was only set to be at LSU the week prior.
