Had a more compliant group there.

Not so many wild-eyed southern baws.

I don’t think he had to rebuild Notre Dame from only having 37 scholarship players when he got there either

I'm not melting down about Sunday's loss. In fact, I was pretty encouraged about LSU's play overall (they just didn't execute in some critical moments in a toss up game). But this excuse is starting to run a bit thin. It's his 3rd season. That means he's had three signing classes. Signing classes that weren't limited to the previous 25 man cap. Plus, he's had the transfer portal available to him in all three seasons at LSU. That provided a pool of 1,000+ immediately eligible players each year that was unavailable to coaches prior to the change in transfer rules.

In other words, there have never been more players available to coaches to quickly rebuild their rosters. If by year 3 Kelly still hasn't adequately "rebuilt" from the 37 players when he got here (there were actually more than that) then that's on him.

At that same time guys have been able to transfer out just as they’ve been able to transfer in. We just lost a 5* OT amongst other good players. Building and maintaining a roster let alone a culture is hellacious in this environment. Look at Dabo at Clemson.

The truth is that LSU’s NIL was a mess until this past year or so. Look at the ‘25 class for proof of that. It’s been one game of this season. Let’s chill out.

And you really can't much count his 3rd year of recruits to help out much at this point.

That post was reaching. I'm talking reeeeeeeaching.

I can agree with that, but Kelly's coaching module is all about a process. At most, players have 3 years to learn the process that he teaches and he's said that its getting better every year. Once he establishes his process, it wont take as much to get new players bought in. Just my opinion.

Actually, Notre Dame was a shite hole when he got there. Same with Cincinnati and Central Michigan. Kinda funny how much the dude is hated, when he turned all these programs around. He's in year 3 of a rebuild, lost the first game and a ton of idiots are "done with him. We had back to back 5-5 and 6-7 seasons before him, then go 10-3 in back to back years with a heisman winner and winning the West, and MFers are done with him after game 1 plus a top 3 recruiting class that literally stocked the shelf at every single position on offense and defense.

Unlike people like Miles and Ed O and Kirby Smart and Kalen Deboer, etc, he is starting with shite and has to build up. He's not at Miami or Oregon or Texas or TAMU that got pockets of cash and just throwing insane amounts at kids. Only recently as earlier this year did LSU have some funds enough to actually spend close to the big boys.

I've known all along this is a freaking process. I'm still looking at that 2026 season as the championship run. Im still looking at this year as a 10-2 season.

He's had TWO full signing classes, and one he was here a month for. His first signing class was 15 kids because Ed O being fired midseason destroyed most of a class. That class itself turned out to be a major joke outside of a few kids. He really only brought in Wiggins and Perkins to that class.

He had a great first transfer portal class because tons of kids wanted to come back to Louisiana who didn't get a shot with the previous coach of LSU, and it was cheaper. After that, the money got turned up big time for transfers. Many of you harped on you not giving a damn dime to a collective and expect to get the same players the big money spenders are getting. You played yourself so shut your damn mouth up about high cost arse transfers YOU didn't want to put money up for.

FSU and Ole Miss are spending insane money on transfers, and Ole Miss's team next year will be back to below average when all of them leave because Lane hasn't recruited the high school ranks worth a shite. FSU's team has already turned to shite with that same dumbass strategy. If Miami doesn't capitalize off this season with the high school recruits, they too will be in the same boat.

While other teams are building for the YOLO one season wonders and you guys are going through FOMO, Kelly is looking at big picture and sustainability.

Also, yall are talking all this dumb shite one game into the season. Talk your shite when and if we have lost 3 games before the Oklahoma, or hell, Florida gane. If we haven't, shut the hell up about it.

FSU and USC suck. Play them enough and you'll win regularly. We just caught both teams when they happened to be good.

LSU has been a little unlucky with both having probably their best teams in years when they played
