Hitting. 346 with 10 Homers hopefully he continues with his production and gets a call-up.

I really love to see former tigers perform at a high level
Hope he gets the call Upwards!

Tons of upside. He could just never get it going here.

He’s old as hell for that league but hope he keeps pushing

IMO he left a year early, but good to see it clicking for him.

His interference in 2017 still haunts me

Remember when you thought Chris Reid was better?

He’s 25 and it’s AA. Is there anything you don’t think you’re an expert on even though you’re clueless about?

People underrate how devastating that call was. I think we win that game and then have Lange going the next night and take down UF. Oh well

It's barely above average.
This is old, but it should be about the same today

The average age of players in the International and Pacific Coast Leagues (Triple-A) is around 26. As I explained a few weeks ago, Triple-A includes a lot of veteran major leaguers. The average age for the Double-A leagues is just slightly over 24. For High-A it’s a hair under 23 and for Low-A ball it’s around 21-and-a-half.
If you broke it down by 4-year college draftees vs. high school draftees it also would look much different obviously. Getting started at 18/19 is a lot different than getting started at 21/22.

This is from the same article.
You could replace Lambo’s name with Jake slaughter & it’s the exact same situation Slaughter is in.

Being old for a level can have a negative effect as well. Andrew Lambo, a former top prospect with the Dodgers, was just called up by the Pittsburgh Pirates on Monday. Lambo toiled in the minors for four months this season despite being a corner outfielder with 31 home runs in the upper minors in an organization with terrible major league right fielders. Why? Because he just turned 25, and the Pirates couldn’t be sure of the legitimacy of what he’s accomplished.
Sure there are other reasons Lambo was ignored while his major league team had a need for the one thing he’s good at—his past three well-below-average seasons come to mind—but among the chief reasons for Lambo’s continued presence in the minors is that 24-year-olds are supposed to dominate Double-A pitching. Most major league 24-year-olds would. To do so is not the great achievement that his 31 home runs would suggest it to be.

Good for him, addiction is tough man

Agree with you 100%. I’ll never forget that play, still makes me sick to think about it.

This is entirely irrelevant to what you said. 25 is not "old" for AA at all. It's basically average.
And again, logically thinking, the average is brought down for high school draftees entering at 18 who progress typically vs. 4-year college players entering at 21/22. Yes college draftees should progress quicker, but when talking AA it's not going to be the 18 year old getting there in 4 years vs. the college player getting there in 1 year necessarily to 'even things out' age wise.

Huh? How do you think that is irrelevant.
He is actually older than the subject in the same article you posted.
You. Your article.
He’s a 25 year old tearing up a league that he is considered old in. He should be doing good.

considering there was no 2020 MILB season and 2021 was a shortened season due to COVID, not really. The typical progression track for MILB players was very much affected by them literally not playing minor league baseball games for over a year. Not to mention, plenty of good college players never even reach AA ball.

I remember. Not surprising he’s trying to downplay this.

What Lester means is that 25 is old for AA when attributing his stats to any sort of future MLB success.
