Why are we not incorporating MVB into the offense? Nuss is still horrible at making post snap reads and his ball does not have the same zip on it that we saw last year. His inability to escape pressure is continuing to hurt us when we have a possible solution sitting on the sideline.

I have not completely lost faith in this team but CBK and Sloan will need to make some serious changes to the play calling and having a QB who is unable to use his feet will definitely have the TAMU D line salivating.

So maybe Sloan isn’t a QB guru he’s been hyped to be? Seems like something you can coach into a QB.

It’s not helping Nuss that his OLine can’t protect and he gets hit every play. Hard for a QB to settle into the flow of a game when running for his life.

I have to put some blame on the OL. Many cuss OL coach, but these transfers were pretty highly regarded —- and they’re upper class men. It’s not like they’re a bunch of RS FR in there. Just WD….the others are RS SO (2) RS JR & SR

I would like them to plug in Bordelon and Curne at each T position

Ok, but we had a 5 game sample size going into this game of us being absolutely terrible at RPO plays. The right reads aren't being made by the QB, the OL doesn't know how to block these, our WRs are running routes when they should be blocking, and its long development has put our RBs at a disadvantage. Literally every aspect of the play is run incorrectly and it's been like that all season. Why do you keep on calling a play that never creates an advantage for your personnel? It's not like Nuss makes one bad read every once in awhile that causes a negative play – it's the fact that every single unit is not doing their job over and over again play after play and you keep calling it expecting different results.

I agree 100%. We've shown that we do not run the RPO well, so stop running it. Sloan is trying to fit a square peg into a round hole.

I remember some guy named Archie Manning at Ole Miss and the Saints make a living running for his life.

Who with half of a brain think Nuss played well? Again, he played like dogshite but majority of our fans will say he wasn't the problem.

I really thought he would have noticed how hard his former roommate worked to up his game and follow a similar path … but no!

Maybe, just maybe, Nuss has contributed to making our OC, OL, and running game look worse. He's pulling the ball and throwing smoke screens against a 5 man box. You know how you improve your running game? You hand the ball off when you have numbers in the box. These are simple things that makes the entire team better. He's not doing them.

He has been doing this all yr with light boxes. If he can't figure that out then sloan/kelly need to make him check with me and tell him to run the ball. I mean that shite has been going on all yr.

This is where Sloan is part of the problem imo

The problem is when we're running RPO our OL are not firing off the ball. The tackles are in pass pro and the center and guards are careful not to get up the field too quickly. I'd rather us just check into a straight up rushing play when we recognize a light box, but after watching this breakdown, I'm not sure I would trust Nuss enough to make the right check. These are the types of things that most people don't recognize during the game, but they are the things that separate good QBs from bad QBs.

Then you have a Coaching staff platooning receivers after almost every play which resulted in the staff having to burn a timeout on the goal line. That is Coaching and that is the biggest problem on the team and there is no solving that issue.

That shite is so stupid. They totally whiffed on sharp and nic anderson too. Anderson has been bad but they keep rotating receivers.

Just put your best 3 out there and stick with them.

Between the rumors of Nuss not being a hard worker and the way he plays the game in fear,

Theres gotta be something to this. He literally gets hurt and comes up limping every time he goes to the ground. This has to be why hes terrified to run the ball or the coaches are terrified to let him run.
And every other qb we have had made huge leaps between jr and sr years and Nuss has regressed. It appears he is playing hurt (they have contradicted themselves on this multiple times) or he hasnt put in the work in the off-season. Or both.

Its not hard to imagine a college kid making $3 million and getting married in the off season doesnt have the desire to grind like Burrow and Jayden.

Those that truly knows football and has watched the season understands his play has been bad throughout. He has zero mobility which is not a fit for today’s game. We are in a tough spot and no change could very well jeopardize going to a bowl game.

A QB that understands pre-snap indicators and knows where his hot check down is so when his LT gets blown up he can get the ball out quick.

For sure I know Vanderbilt has a better QB and team than LSU. Now when you consider we didn’t have to replace our QB or our HC and we had mucho $ to spend for NIL, this season has been very disappointing and could very well be one of the worst in LSU history if we only win the remaining games we are favored in. Not the worst we have ever had but the worst considering the resources and returning key positions.

They can rotate a player out when he gets tired, fatigued, or whatever. But the way the rotation has been used has been awful. Zavion, Kyle Parker, and Aaron Anderson are all slot players.

If you don't want to play Hilton consistently then go to trips every play and let Green be the outside option and have Zavion and Aaron Anderson play in the slot and let Barion be the X to the single receiver side. Rotate Kyle Parker and Hilton in to give Brown and the slot guys a rest. But until then stop with the constant rotation every play. That greatly impacts the flow of the game.

To be fair, you are comparing Nuss to 2 Heisman trophy winners that are both in the top 5 QBs all-time in LSU history.

I am comparing this years OL to last years OL and both were deficient.

If Etling, Mettenberger, or Rohan Davey were the QB this year, we are still 5-2.
