For those that don't follow recruiting, Wade is setting up the team to hustle.

Wade has already gotten a top 100 6'10" power forward to get out of his commitment to VCU and he's just signed this Juco point guard who's really smooth and shot 47% from 3 pt range. Both of these guys fit in the image of what he wants from his team. There will be a lot of hustle and effort on both ends of the floor or you won't play. He'll have this team moving in the right direction fairly quickly. I like it.

Edwards has a really clean, smooth shot.

Defensive effort from our guards will be a nice change. It's been so long since we've seen it. I've forgotten what it looks like.

Basketball from our basketball team would be a nice change, honestly.

Hustle and effort are indeed important and were usually missing from this most recent Tiger team.

When will we start learning how many players from this past season will return--of course, other than Blakeney?

I'm anxious to find out this myself. I'm hoping and fully expecting for there to be more attrition either voluntarily or asked to leave shortly. This will allow Wade to bring in even more of his type of guys to turn it around that much faster. There's a few guys on this team that don't fit the mold of Wade's style of play. I stay in contact with a couple of LSU beat writers reporting on basketball. I'll post whatever I find as soon as I hear something.

Is this the PG that only averaged 3 assist per game?

Considering the coaching change, the apparent quality of the four players that make up the incoming class is more than I would expect. GT!

He's not a pg, more of a sg with decent ball handling skills. He's basically Blakeney's replacement. He averaged 3.9 assists per game last season.

So which new faces can we expect next season? Daryl Edwards, Mayan Kiir, Galen Alexander, and Brandon Rachal?

With Edwards on board, Wade now has four members of his 2017 class, joining a trio of four star freshmen in guard Brandon Rachal, forward Galen Alexander, and big man Mayan Kiir.

Nice stroke and four assist a game is nothing to insult.

Yep. We've seen street ball or complete chaos for years.

I like what I'm hearing. But, playing devil's advocate, this is the exact same thing we heard from JJ. Something along the lines of "We're going to be fast pace and run the other team up and down the floor for 40 minutes."

Sounds just like what we said for Josh Gray.

Granted this is comparing apples, to well... rotten apples between Wade and Jones.

I'm looking forward to next season, but I'm going to stay away from the hype until I see the product on the court.

We've got a pass first point guard on the team already. Mays.

LSU did play fast under Jones. They were in the top 30 as far as tempo was concerned. However, there was really no control in their fast play. They took forced shots and tried to run even when the situation didn't call for it. They also had a uptempo style of play because they didn't defend anyone in the half court. Teams routinely got good shots early in the shot clock because LSU couldn't have cared less about defending. Their defensive philosophy (if you could call it that) was hope to get a quick steal so they could run. Staying in front of you man on defense and forcing tough shots was a low priority.

Gray was a big time JUCO scorer, but I don't think he was ever anywhere near 47% from 3. I don't think he was every billed as a "shooter." Just a scorer

The only hype is that LSU may actually field a basketball team and the program could actually get better and become relevant again.

All aboard.
