I hate the back end of this tournament. You have two undefeated teams playing two teams with 1 loss in single-elimination games.

I guess time is the driver here but it still seems like a bad way to do it.

yeah I don't get baseball sometimes....LHSAA moved to best 2 of 3 then to single elimination....

SEC tourney should be a single elimination format with so many teams or switch to pool play similar to CWS format.

CWS not that many years ago moved title game from single elimination to best 2 of 3.

Needs some uniformity here.

Time is less of a driver than it is teams not wanting to burn through pitching before regionals.

The Double Elimination for this morning and tomorrow’s games throws me off. Should be Elimination Game

Nobody that’s sniffing Omaha is gonna want to burn through all that pitching with an extra game

My complaint is that the racket they use is so damn hard to navigate visually. Not sure there’s a better option though

I like the pod approach the ACC tournament uses.

The SEC baseball tournament is awesome. Why change anything? We get 17 games of baseball in 6 days. Single elimination would only be 11 over 4 days.

I guess for me that is part of time, meaning the time between the SEC tournament and the start of regionals.

The best solution is to go round robin style or get rid of the tournament completely.

Curious how they go forward with more teams added to the conference. Cut teams? Add teams? Drop the tournament completely (not likely)?

Maybe go single elimination the entire way (which is not very "baseball").

Same as now. Just means two extra teams sitting at home.

competitively it doesn’t make much sense if all we cared about was winning the SEC. if we lose today, i would honestly rather lose again tomorrow to avoid burning more arms

But who sits at home is a decent question. Big question if baseball goes to 4-divisions like football or no divisions like basketball. No divisions is easy, take the top 12. 4 groups I think you take the Top 2 in each group and next 4 best records.

Personally I don't mind it... the single championship game makes for a good Sunday wrapup.

The tournament is really icing on the cake in the season and not one that means much for the Champion... but it is good for teams trying to make NCAA's.

For really important stuff like LHSAA champs or CWS champs, it's gotta be 3 games. CWS finally got it right. LHSAA needs to follow.

get rid of the tourney completely
Every team that desires to compete in Omaha does not use their best pitchers for a 'tournament' win. Who ever remembers who won a SEC tournament. Only there to make money. Drop it!

Boo. It's got a place in the season. A really cool place. It's a bonus and does reward teams getting hot at the right time and has alot of benefit for teams still working on things for NCAAs...

Example: How huge was it for LSU and Thatcher to have that game against SC prior to the NCAAs?
