Everybody is going to give you a reason and most likely it won’t really be scheme. Got to have a reason to deflect blame from JD. Is it all JD? No, but this offense is limited when he won’t let it fly downfield. Denbrock can do a better job but it’s not all his fault either.

Here’s the thing
Daniels is not a qb that is going to be comfortable sitting in the pocket for long. He clearly likes to run.
I’ve watched all of the games and have noticed that on several of Daniels’ runs, there are open receivers. They’re so open that they get visibly frustrated.
Seems to me that Daniels has a quick internal clock. If he hasn’t thrown by 2 seconds, he runs. I think he would just rather run so he really only looks for his first read.
That being the case. Rather than hope for Daniels to change his style, change the passing game to a lot more short routes that develop quickly. Give Daniels short drops. 2-3 receivers and a rb with several options on shallow routes so he doesn’t have to stand on the pocket more than 2 seconds.
It won for work for good opponents but it’ll be more effective overall.

The problem with a lot of the short routes ( but not all ) is, he doesn't throw on time and if that's all you throw, the DB'S will sit on those routes and it's gonna be a pick 6 ( they almost got one Saturday when a DB undercut an out route but missed picking it ). He waits until the WR is out of their break to see if they are wwwiiidddeee open, then he throws it, by then, the DB has enough time to recover and contest the pass, break it up or JD misses. When you start simpifying you become more predictable.

Look I’m not a fan of Daniels but I know he can throw the long ball as I have seen tape of him playing at arizona state. Until we begin spreading the field and defense this game will be all about the success of Daniels at qb. So far play calling seems to follow the lines of a Cincinnati team that daniels would have fit well in and probably would be receiving accolades in that conference. Denbrook is over his head in the sec, so far. I hope he figures this out. soon. Otherwise, Kelly will have to take the blame.

For sure
The shortened passing game is not guarantee but it’s what would suit Daniels more than the slower routes and deep drop backs.
Again, I watched 3 plays on Saturday and several in other games where receivers were open but Daniels took off running. This Saturday, the receivers were visibly frustrated

... what do you believe we are doing wrong?
The same thing that Texas was doing wrong from the second half of the Bama game and before the OU game. Not having a QB the caliber of Ewers.

The game in the SEC is just too fast for JD. He isn't constantly seeing huge windows to throw into like the PAC 12. He's now having to throw into smaller windows against defenders that have faster closing speeds with tighter coverage and he doesn't have confidence to make those throws. He's trying so hard not to be the reason they lose, that he's not being the reason they win. I think he's good enough but he needs to settle down and just play football. Right now, he's not mentally ready to lead LSU.
this is spot on. the game is too fast for him and he panics/runs.

It's not the scheme...it's the players. Until the offensive line is vastly improved nothing is going to work worth a sht....if you think it's a JD problem you are wrong.

I think the scheme is fine. Personnel is the issue.
For example, if this team had a bunch of 5*'s across the OL nobody would say a word because they'd be much better.
All of a sudden the "stone age" thought regarding the offense would go away because people wouldn't have to come up with lazy takes to bitch about.

We got into the red zone today in the second quarter, JD was throwing pretty will on this drive. 1st and 10 and we hand it off. 2nd and 11 and we hand it off again.
Yeah, that was just dumb.

Unfortunately, our offensive woes aren't just scheme related in my opinion. There is is scheme aspects: simplistic, predictable running plays (we have one RB play it appears), wrong play calls for defense or situation, wrong players filling certain positions in the play, lack of real RPOs given the starting QBs running ability and defense's style of play against what they expect/what we are actually running, and lack of downfield throws; lack of confusion-creating alignments, movement (every offense should have a certain level of deception integrated into as many plays as possible to keep defense off-balance/guessing which slows down their play speed). All that is "scheme" related in my view.
Other causes of woes, QB: his inaccuracry on many simple throws, lack of ability to read defense and adjust blocking scheme to account for it, throw hot routes based on expected pressure, apprehension in throwing the ball in many circumstances, inability to throw timing passes, rarely comfortable just taking what the defense gives him IOT get yards. Those are big QB related things for me.
OL related: missed blocking assignments and poor run blocking.
WRs, TEs: dropped passes on catchable balls and poor blocking.
All these factors combined, anemic offensive production.

That's not true! Being a 5 star doesn't mean you will play better. Look at Texas A&M. Full of 5 stars!!

QB can’t do what offensive coordinator is trying to do. Long routes that take time to develop, which is hindered by a makeshift overmatched o line. Daniels cannot make the quick read, and throw to a receiver before that receiver makes his break, and he does not have time to wait for the guy to get open bc oline can’t hold long enough.
Square Peg Round Hole.
Denbrock forcing Jayden Daniels to run the Walker Howard Offense
It doesn't fit but irrationally try to force it anyway due to ego and stubbornness..........

2019 Burrow might have scored 40 but not 2018 Burrow. JD is in a new system with new coaches and new players. Just like Burrow in 2018.

Watch Ole Miss offense. Very creative. Very unpredictable. You never know where they are coming from.
LSU's? Not so much. I am on the Nuss Bus.

Paralysis by Analysis. JD needs to run a fast-paced offense. When we run at a faster pace where JD does not have to think as much, we do a lot better. The plays are slow coming in. I see so much confusion and indecision in his eyes. He just does not look comfortable. LSU is in a world of hurt if the coaches do not see this. When he has to think more the play goes to $hit. RPO at a faster pace.
