Such a tired reasoning. Lee and Jefferson are great qbs by this stupid arse logic.

Apples and oranges. He's probably assuming that you watched the games this year and understand that JD was the offense.

Coming HERE to learn? I haven't seen any info that would help improve a person's "football IQ" here. But .... you sound pretty knowledgeable. How about you put some links to websites for the "football ignorant" to learn from and improve the situation?

If LSU can't get 30+ passing TDs with this group something is seriously wrong regardless who is starting at QB.

This is SO true. I'm done with JD/Nuss/WH debate -- tired of talking about it. BK can start whoever he wants. I just want to see the dynamic pass attack next year that Denbrock said this coaching staff would produce when he hired on this year.

Then you do not come here often or are willfully dishonest. Things are discussed all the time here for years. go watch and breakdown games. do film studies. study X and O concepts.educate yourself. come back and discuss it. most are tired of posting good educational content just to be pissed on by the football ignorant trolls here. People do game breakdowns. Last one i did was ohio state-clemson playoff in 2019. many others have done them also.

My post isn't meant to take a shot at the OC or QBs. It's probably multiple variables that dropped our output this season. I think it gets worked out in the offseason and we we come out rolling in 23'.

This season we had a:
New staff
New QB
New OL starters
New TE

Continuity going into 23' will be key. Even RBs will be a vet group with some new recruits added

I've been critical of JD but I think he'll settle in if he is the starter. I expect a dynamic offense next year.

Totally understand. And I agree.

Agreed. He'll settle in if he's the starter next year. But, I highly doubt that JD settling in would mean a strong pass attack.

So, can JD improve the run/option side of his game next year?

We’re no different than other fan bases. There is a dumba$$ and a genius in every town in America. Choose which one to hear.

That is a fact.

Careful with a straw man that large. If he catches fire he’ll burn your entire narrative to the ground.

All fan bases talk about stuff like this but it is interesting how polarizing the QB position has turned out this year.

It almost reminds me of the whole Les argument that went on here for years. We had people defended Les because muhh… he wins games. But we also had a group that said while Les wins games he did a lot of stupid crap that held us back. I have never understood why people will die on a hill like that for Les or JD for that matter. They both win some games but you know there are limitations so why not try someone different? It’s a lot easier switch out a QB than fire a coach.

Doesn’t the Southern game also qualify as “meaningless football”?

So, he looks like crap in the Southern game - “Nuss sucks!”

He looks really good against UGA - “That doesn’t count, it’s meaningless football”.

Yep, really sounds like an unbiased opinion OP.

The standard is always best case scenario for JD and worst case scenario for Nuss.

There’s a fair share of hate for both of them. Can’t figure out why. They’re both LSU Tigers.

Agree but rational discussion seems to be downed out by one side. One side seems honestly curious about what Nuss could be while the other is more dismissive of anything other than JD worship.

You gotta have low expectations when it comes to LSU fans. The ignorance is everywhere!

Watching all of the posts about Ricks, losing Ricks, is Ricks not committing today.....

Tells you all you need to know.

Sad.

You make some really good points but Daniels didn’t exactly sling it in those wins. He was efficient passing and did a lot of damage with his legs but he didn’t miraculously find open receivers down field. To quote you, “that is a fact.”

Defense saved our asses in the Auburn and Arkansas wins.
Daniels is a great QB with different personell but not with LSU current makeup of players.
Our strength once again in 23 on offense will be WR.
Guess what JD strength is?

When JD is [ON] he is very effective and the offense moves down the field with ease even without the big arm. When JD is [OFF] we stagnate.

When Nuss is [ON] he's dropping bombs and we score in a hurry, but he might throw an int here and there. When Nuss is [OFF] it can be chaos.

We haven't seen enough of Howard to know what we'll be getting yet.

At this point inconsistency is having more of an effect than the need to keep a QB in rhythm. It's time to use a dual QB system. Make D's prepare for JD and Nuss. Play both and ride whoever is hot. Let Howard come in for mop-up duty (unless he beats Nuss) and play your offense so he gets throwing reps. If all three see the field and get a chance to contribute and develop, maybe no one transfers out.

BK is one of the few coaches that could successfully manage such a thing.
