Not worried about other SEC schools. Look at the top guys on a national level.
The Tigers have a chance to really build a consistent contender. Pay the man !

I, for one, have never stated that he is currently underpaid or underappreciated. But, moving forward, we have to be honest with ourselves and, more importantly, the athletic department has to be honest with themselves, and understand that Will Wade is going to be a very hot commodity.
That means LSU needs to do whatever it takes (within reason, of course) to keep him here. There's no reason LSU SHOULDN'T be able to do that. It's just that they have been reluctant for so long to really commit to growing the basketball program. Well, I don't know if they were smart or just really fortunate to get Will Wade, but they got him, and he's been a home run. So I think a lot of people, myself included, are anxious to see if the athletic department will step on the gas and keep this momentum going.

In April,
1. extend his contract 2 years, raise his base pay to $3.5 million, and keep the buyout money at $2.5 mil per year of contract remaining.
2. Assure WW of EXACTLY what and when facilities upgrades will be/happen.
I think failure to do #2 might be more dangerous to LSU MBB than the amount of raise in #1.

shut down the womens program already. This isn't a frickin charity.
Title IX. That will never happen, regardless of how much money the program loses.

Early in the season, as high as I was on Wade, I was still skeptical when seeing some of the same mistakes happening over and over, but he obviously can recruit, he gets fired up (which I love), he talks like a winner, seems focused on not being too negative or overly boastful in given situations, and his team is showing mental toughness and the extremely important ability to adjust to different situations. This is a great group of players he has formed in just two years. He's young and still has room to grow as a coach too.
His name popped up a little too much with the recruiting violation talk last year for my liking (even if everyone is doing stuff), but as long as that's being monitored, I think you invest in him and what is important to him and build a real, consistent winner that can contend with the big boys. Basketball has profited even in crappy years. Imagine what it could do if we were consistently really good. And Louisiana is loaded with great basketball talent. Per capita, Louisiana produces something like the 2nd most basketball recruits and 2nd most NBA players currently.

Idk, it wouldnt be that crazy to bump him up to the second highest paid coach in the SEC (a few hundred thousand) as I think he is probably that. Though I think we should go crazy with the salary we start bringing home championships.

Same fricking people all for Eaux getting extensions and raises saying wait...stunning turn of events IDAF what skip or anyone says, if you believe Wade is the guy to lead the program and he’s having success then you treat him fairly and show him he’s wanted.
This this this. Basketball doesn’t have the advantages football does. Take care of the guy even if it seems premature to do so.
