So before becoming a student, you'd never attended a game in Tiger Stadium? Out of curiosity, were you a fan before then and just did not get to attend a game, or did you become a fan while at LSU?

No judgments...just curious.

I remember When I was In undergrad posting here about how the student section made tiger stadium.

And I was Downvotes by like a million old fogies.

And now that I set With said old fogies I realize

that I was completely fricking right.

It's weird for a game or two, but there are plenty of pros. Enjoy the next phase of your LSU football fandom!

So this'll be my first year not sitting in the LSU student section.

Nothing beats the student section but it's still awesome.

Quotes to expect from salty old fricks:

"Don't curse around my kid!!"

"You don't have to stand for every play!!"
"Stop Kneeing me in the back!!"

Couldn't be more accurate.

Last year even had a guy ask me to not talk during the commercials so he could hear the advertisements...I was beyond pissed

Grew up in Northern Virginia. I had never set foot in Louisiana until orientation.

ETA: I have no connection to the school but it was a statistical fit and it was the greatest decision I have ever made. I love south Louisiana. Other places may be nicer and have better statistics but the lifestyle/people here are awesome.

you could always just walk to the SS once you're in TS if you want to sit there still.

It’s a seriously stark contrast. I remember wondering why not everyone was borderline hammered and why no one else seemed to be as angry at the other team for simply existing as I was.

I did this last year when I still knew people and I also did a 5 year degree so I was technically 2 years past when an average student would stop going and I felt really old even then . I don't think I could swing another season especially because all of my friends have moved on.

I sat in the student section for 7 years, undergrad and law school as well as numerous times in various parts of the stadium. Both have positives and negatives. It is definitely less rowdy and more family friendly in the general seats but it also can be more enjoyable.

As someone said, not having to wait in line and get patted down is real nice. Having to watch my mouth is a negative however.

I believe they eliminated Student Section pat downs last year. Watching my mouth will absolutely suck as will not being able to watch the game with like 20 of my best friends. But life moves on.

Just remember you don't have to stand the entire game. That's takes a little getting used to outside of the student section.

It’s great, you can bring in alcohol (easier) and you don’t feel guilty about sitting down.

Lol... I've been out of the student section demographic for 27 years (yikes!). Reading through this thread, I've identified most with these 2 comments:

It kinda sucks.

You feel a million years old pretty much isntantly

The student section now is like the nonstudent sections were when I was in the student section. It all went down hill when they cracked down on tiger rag after the anthem and throwing drinks after scoring.

Idc how people around me are. I'm hoarse by end of 1st quarter and continue it till time expires whether in a buffalo wild wings, a local sports bar or at my tv or cellphone.

Last game I went to was that double ot vs Arkansas back in the day. I go to a game every few years when leave coincides with money to buy a plane ticket visit fam and go to a game. But hope to catch a a game in tiger stadium this year with some Louisiana boys I work with that have never been to tiger stadium, and to go to my 1st away game. Thinking Gainesville but idk yet.

You paid for tickets, yell or stand up! Who cares. but try & not cuss that's all I can do for anyone around me. You kind of can make the environment around you better
