The fact that Colorado is ranked and they haven’t beat a top 25 team tells you how legit this poll is.

Honestly, it seems many of you just enjoy being miserable. The season didn't go like we hoped, but half of you hate BK so much I don't think you'll be able to enjoy next season if the team is successful.

Fact is this is an unacceptable outcome. He's 3 years into a contract paying him 10M a year and he finished the season unranked with 4 losses. This one follows last year's team with the worst defense we've ever fielded.
3 years in, finishing the year unranked. That doesn't fall within anybody expectations at his hiring. He better make the playoff next year or Baton Rouge is going to get pretty uncomfortable. He wasn't brought in for a 5 year rebuild

Would’ve you have felt better if he said “judge me by year 6?” Can you name another coach (not named Nick Saban) who took over a complete mess of a program and within 3 years had as much success as BK and Co? I can’t.
I mean, do you haters with BKDS have another talking point to lean on? Jeezus - 29 wins, SEC west title, SECCG game, 3 straight bowl wins, Heisman winner, prolific offense, 3 top NFL rookies, young impact players on both sides of the ball, great recruiting classes, great portal class, locking down La recruiting, beat Auburn, beat Bama, beat Arky, beat FL, beat Ole Miss, I mean dayyyum what more yall expect? BUh buH hE sAiD jUDge mE bY yEaR 3! Yeah. And in year 3 given the starting point he’s crushing it.

So for 3 consecutive games, BK didn't have his tam ready for a mobile qb. Got it.
Simply put, they didn’t have the personnel.
Once Guillory went down, LSU wasn’t stopping shite. With no NIL money, BK had previously cobbled together some depth at DT (Suggs and Washington), but ultimately had to rely on youngsters (including freshman Ahmad Breaux).
It wasn’t ideal.
That weakness meant that our lb’s were negatively impacted. They had to take chances. When they did…and missed, it meant the safeties were having to make tackles in the open field. Not ideal.
That’s tough to do against a running back. Adding a mobile qb makes that challenge exponentially tougher.
TLDR - Due to limited funds, and only one legit draft class (with HIS players), LSU couldn’t stop a mobile qb…we didn’t have the pieces to do so.
Which brings me to this:
How much money have YOU donated to the NIL?

You're right. He only gets a ten year, $100 million contract and he underperforms because WE NEED TO GIVE MORE MONEY!

Yes, that is correct.
How much have you given?

11. Ole Miss (10-3)
Let's recap:
1. LSU beats Ole Miss
2. LSU opened vs USC and Ole Miss opened vs Furman

Until Sellers was injured they were fricking us
we were up by 5 when Robby Ashford took over
It was 24-16 at halftime. Sellers was injured with 13 seconds left in the half.
LSU had just scored a minute before that. it was 24-10 we had no answer for Sellers running abilities and deep threat passes.

2. LSU opened vs USC and Ole Miss opened vs Furman
The next two seasons LSU opens with Clemson. With a head coach who takes a while before his team finds it's identity that's not good. And if the pollsters continue to rank teams like UNLV then that means that LSU can't afford to lose more than 3 games it they're going to finish ranked. That's tough to do when you're always losing your first game of the season.

I have asked this multiple times on this board and gotten nothing but crickets in return. Year 3 is not magical and it’s not the typical time frame for competing for programs that weren’t already competitive.

Here's 2
Kenny Dillingham
Curt Cignetti
UGA wasn't exactly upper elite when Smart took over, not as bad as Florida with Napier, but not playoff ready

I gotta say Colorado, memphis, unlv, army, and syracuse being ranked ahead of us is wild
LSU would crush all of those teams. LSU is definitely a top 25 team. I think they are somewhere between 15-20th this year. ESPN power index has LSU at 18, Colo at 23, UNLV at 40, Syr at 49, Army at 50 and Mem at 57. Those aren’t perfect, but much more realistic rankings.

Why is this relevant? Does opponent strength factor into records and coaching evaluation?

Deion Sanders took a 1-11 team he inherited to a 9-4 record and Top 25 ranking in two seasons. His first two seasons as a D1 HC with much less resources than LSU. Army and Navy ranked ahead, nevermind. Smh.

It’s relevant because the difference in schedule strength is the reason Ole Miss is 10-3 and LSU is 9-4. Had LSU played Wake Forest instead of USC, they would also be 10-3 with the head-to-head advantage.

They also didn’t face a ranked opponent until the bowl game in which they got blown out. It’s also only one season. LSU was 10-3 in Year 2 against a far more difficult schedule.

Pump Nuts are

In reality, Butter Kreme didn't sign enough OL's (Only Thompson and Moore) to make up for the loses and there's just not enough OL's returning with proven talent and experience.
