Exactly!!! This is only way to stop it

The player should be forced to go leave the field and go to an area where an doctor can evaluate them.

Going to be very hard to enforce.

Prove the player is not hurt.
You can think or believe it, but you cannot prove with indisputable evidence that the player is not hurt.

Simple solution is have the injured player sit out for the remainder of the drive. That would definitely decrease the number of fake injuries.

Don't see how you review a hammy that tightens up lol.

the penalty should be an automatic first down on defense.
loss of down and 15 yards on offense
no commercials during review, must show constant replays of injury
You can't make a rule against faking injury. There would be literally no fair way to enforce it. Just do what happens when a helmet comes off during a play if a player goes down: remove them from the contest for a set number of plays to allow time for an evaluation by trainers and team doctors. If having one of your starters sit for 4-5 plays is worth the fake then that's on the coaches.

When a player is standing upright looking at the sideline for the call and then just lays down, it should be flagged.
You can't prove a guy that never got up isn't hurt but the one the Ole Miss did to us near the goal line was as cut and dry of a fake injury stall tactic as there is.
I agree that they will never implement a penalty for it but the player that "goes down" should definitely be out the remainder of the drive.

Change of possession. If you come off the field due to injury you’re ineligible to return until the next drive.

We made the running clock for player safety, enhanced kick off fair catches for player safety, enforce targeting for player safety.
Make them sit out the remainder of the possession for their own safety.

Same for the DL who was not "hurt" near the LOS on an LSU play...but was suddenly hurt after running 60 yards to the new LOS after a big gain by LSU.

No question. If any player (except the QB) causes a stoppage of play because of injury that player should not be allowed to re-enter the game for the remainder of the series.

While I agree when it isn't us... All I keep seeing is Matt Flynn's chin strap in his hand and him going down grabbing his knee.

Don’t exempt the QB from this. If he’s hurt bad enough to have to stop the game, he can’t come back in until next possession.

I think the only thing that could be done is to make them sit out a possesion. Even looking over to the sideline might not be a good indicator. There are times guys have something tweaked and are yelling to the sideline for a sub or making the hand on helmet motion that we may not see adn then the coach will tell them to sit. They were hurt. Cramps are another issue. So i would hate to have the refs have to decide who is faking or not. Yes it happens, but what if it is legit. Make them sit out.

I think we are talking about the same play. I thought it was inside the 10 but I could be wrong but it was definitely after a big play where we were trying to go fast.

This doesn't seem like a hard concept to implement, I wonder why its never been addressed?

And how exactly are the refs to determine fake v real?
They shouldn't. Just make it objective. If a player goes down once the offense is set, penalty or charge the defense with a timeout. If a player is legitimately hurt and waits to go down, tough luck.
If a player goes down before the offense is set, then keep existing rules.

I don’t think the NFL or the NCAA are going to do this because the trend these days is to go overboard on the side of safety consciousness. They don’t want to be accused of trying to dissuade players from coming out with injuries. They are afraid of being sued, especially when the injuries can’t be objectively verified.

While I agree in principle, games would be like 6 hours long.
