See Kaleb Jackson. Now we all get to watch it. Guy is going to wreck some defenses. Enjoy

White made the right move.

I often wonder what Fournette would have looked like at LB. Probably would have had a much longer career.

I think white would've been good at either.

Some guys just aren't cut out to play linebacker. They have an offensive mindset. Fournette to me wouldn't have been a great LB

Fournette never really fit the linebacker mold. Now if he could have maintained his weight a little better than he could have made an excellent Strong Safety. But his best position was Running Back. Now again I think he could have maintained his weight a little better and he'd likely still be a starting running back.

I think he made the correct choice.

Devin White was the best high school running back that I ever saw and I saw some greats. I think Miles lied to him about running the ball at LSU. I still think there were some situations where they could have given him some carries.

But... water under the bridge.

Maybe we should switch Kaleb Jackson to LB?

I wonder what what Devonta Lee would look like at RB

dude was big, he was athletic. We’ve seen RB move to WR but how a days WR are so big that you gotta wonder if converting to a good receiving back isn’t the move for a big WR who isn’t seeing time

The word for Fournette when he was playing 7 on 7 in high school was that he would have been a highly recruited safety if he played defense.

Fournette was 6'1" 225 in high school. He was not out of shape or carrying any bad weight when he got here. He would never fit the build for a strong safety. He also has never had the lateral quickness and hips to play in the defensive backfield. Fournette is one foot in the ground and go, which has been one of his issues in the NFL.

Look at him compared to a guy like Jamal Adams, who is on the bigger end of strong safeties who play inside the box. Fournette could never move like Jamal Adams. Fournette would get eaten alive at safety, especially in the passing the league the NFL is now. Strong safeties have to be able to cover wide receivers

I saw him in high school a number of times, he was an athlete playing QB. He would have done better to play DB like his younger brother Nick. I saw Russell this time last year. He is doing very well in life and business wise. Still speaks very highly of LSU. True Tiger.

I don’t agree that White would be similar to Jackson. First off, although White was a very good linebacker, he is overrated on this board. He is among the best LBers LSU has had in the last 10 years, but he does not stand above five or six others, like Queen, Debo, and Kwon.

White is way too stiff to play RB as well as Jackson, and certainly not as well as Fournette.

I beg to differ. When you play "what if" games you need to see the whole picture and just not the one side of the issue. If White was a running back, what would the defenses have looked like in those seasons without White creating havoc on defense? He was much more valuable at LB on those defenses than he ever would have been at RB. Remember how bad the defense looked in the first half of the Bama game when White was suspended for the bogus targeting call? When weighed on the full picture, he was a much more valuable commodity on defense; hence my answer of "no" to the OP.
