He hurt his draft stock by returning but one assumes he’ll leave Clemson with a degree.

I still don’t understand why he and the Bama rb came back. Neither could really improve their draft position by much. Greater chance of tanking it. Even D. Smith coming back was weird. I thought he was better than Jeudy and Ruggs and said it in multiple threads last year.

I think Najee may have made money this year by staying. He was great last year but dominant this year. I really believe that Trevor Lawrence and several of the Clemson players including Etienne were convinced that they would easily win the championship this year all the while they playing little league football (ACC).

I don’t get the bitterness toward Etienne. We put all our efforts toward Cam Akers and lost. We didn’t recruit Etienne like we should have. We got Clyde and he turned out ok I think. Sometimes chasing stars doesn’t work out. It all works out in the end.
I really held my breath there when he went down hard on his hip. He looked to be in pain. Would have hated for him to come out injured. He’s seems to be a good kid and made a decision we all wish our players would make and came back for another year.

I didn’t get it either. Hate to say it but even if they’re wearing purple and gold, a guy like Etienne coming back for a 4th season for us would just make me feel bad.
