Clearly an off season topic, so downvote away. My kids are always watching LSU highlight videos on YouTube on one of his popped up. I think I had forgotten how good of a defender he was. Think he could have had a long, productive NFL career if not for the protesting and grievances?

He was a good player, not great, in the NFL, and teams didn't want to put up with that bullshite. I seem to remember him not playing as well for Carolina either.

Thst interception he made in Tuscaloosa in 2011 was and still is one of the all time greatest defensive plays in LSU history.

When he wasn't matched up on a receiver he was excellent.

one about the NFL is that they will put up with bullshite as long as your talent outweighs your distractions, but as soon as its vice versa you’re cooked. Dude also wasn’t the same after that bicep injury.

I watched highlights of that game the other day

It seemed more like a “OHHH *pause* NO situation. I believe he had just said seconds before that it was a big catch

Huh?

What changed between 2011 and 2026 video reviews where it would be overturned now?

Since he didn’t have control of the ball him being down or not isn’t relevant.

Great play by Reid. Not sure what Taylor was doing. He bailed out Taylor big time by coming off his guy crossing underneath. Or that’s an easy TD and a loss.

Laron Landry, Chad Jones, Eric Reid, Jamal Adams are the pinnacle of safety play at LSU for me. I started LSU in '05, so I'm sure there were others that are deserving but those are my best memories

Who knows. One official may say Williams did not complete the catch to the ground. But another may say he had it in his possession when he hit the ground and call it a catch.

He played for 7 years, the majority after he started his virtue signaling. The Niners didn’t even cut him when Shanahan took over and he was in the last year of his rookie contract. Outside of his rookie year (2013) when he was surrounded by All-Pros he was underwhelming for a first round pick. He was beaten out by Jaquiski Tartt his last year in SF and if he’d shown enough in Carolina his career would have continued
