So, why the lie by O about some one scheduling the wrong class?

Did Orgeron actually say this or was it just a rumor that got picked up quick?

I don't apologize for making it on my own. If a victim mentality makes me bad. Then yes I am a bad person. Emery is a dumb human being. You seem to gravitate towards that. Keep on being a fricking loser.

Whether Emery's professors went to bat for him has nothing to do with what I said.
It's relevant in light of the post you were responding to.

But how would you know what they did? Do you know his professors?
I know his academic reputation. Some from his professors, some from the support staff, some from being there and knowing how things work.

This is something that many students have to deal with every year and most never get leniency. Why should Emery be any different? Sounds like some here want special treatment for football players.
If they are trying to get leniency from the NCAA (rather than from LSU), then that is why Emery would be different from a regular student. It would be "special treatment" for an athlete because the NCAA doesn't give any treatment to a regular student.

Orgeron didn't make any comment on it. He just said he is ineligible.

Pretty sure it's the latter.

The story now appears to be that Emery got behind last year and couldn't get enough credits during summer school because it wasn't possible (probably classes not offered during the summer or couldn't be taken concurrently or who the eff knows).

While I still blame O for not giving us a straight answer, sounds like the young man dug himself a hole he couldn't get out of in time for the fall. I think his attorney has a fairly good chance (given his track record and other factors) of getting Emery's reconsideration request heard and approved. How soon will they approve it is the real question.

My advisor advised me to drop. I didn’t think they were going to come back and say you are denied. My teachers had to sign off on it and they all did. I believe they put what your grade at the time was.

The reasoning was I wasn’t the one sick and it wasn’t an immediate family member death.

I remember all this because it was after spring break and I didn’t go on spring break, I stayed at my grandmothers house helping her with whatever she needed.
That's messed up. If it happened now, I think it would be very different.

This makes no sense.

Oh ok, so you’re such a bitter and petty little prick that wants somebody else to be treated the same way that you were, when you just telegraphed the damn fact that you were impacted by a similar set of circumstances and considered unfair and heartless…

You need help. Oh yeah, you’re also a pu$$y!

I lost a lot of faith in LSU, or at least the people employed there.

I realized I was just a number and the only “advisor” that I met that gave me any decent guidance was Paul Ivey, but he was like the head of UCAC at the time. When you get into your college you deal with a different group of angry women.

The only times I ever met with an advisor were during spring testing my HS senior year and then that last LSU semester before I graduated. Otherwise I scheduled on my own and couldn't even tell you who my advisor was. You gotta find a professor in your major to help you.

I work in higher ed and the advising model has changed a lot over the past 10 years. Nowadays your situation would be high priority for support from academic and student services.

Is Emery/his attorney asking for "special treatment" from LSU? In other words, are they asking LSU to bend a rule?
For example, if Emery wanted LSU to let him withdraw from a class after the deadline instead of keeping the bad grade on his transcript, he would be asking LSU for special treatment as a football player that a regular student might not get.

If Emery is asking the NCAA to bend a rule or make an exception, it's not the case of him seeking special treatment a normal non-athlete student wouldn't receive. The NCAA doesn't have anything to do with non-athlete students.
