Yea, me too. I was a mere lad of 76 when that happened.

The team always played hard and enjoyed playing for Les.

Coach O gave us hope, a national championship, and then the gutter.....
Yep, brought us up to the Penthouse, then down to the Outhouse. Never saw a man lose focus so quickly...

Les was a great hire. If someone had surveyed the CFB landscape in '04 and we were told in the next 10 seasons you'll get 1 natty, 1 runner-up, 2 SEC titles, and 3 SECW titles, I think 90% of Tiger fans would've been ok with that.
He did so much so well as a HC. IMO, he only made two major mistakes:
1) Going ultra-conservative on offense after '08. (And I subsume 1/9 under this).
2) The Malleveto thing

They didn't? Maybe you forgot Saban keeping two defenses on the field and sending one off when he saw our formation.

Once you have a season like 19’ the gutter ain’t so bad.
You can still join the conversation.

I’ll never forget the ESPN notification on my phone the day after the Auburn game

Say what you will about Les, but at least he always had studs on the field. In most positions except QB. We don't have anything close to that now. I'm not defending him as a coach, just saying......where are the beasts? We have none in comparison.

One thing I know for sure is Les Miles' LSU wouldn't have given up 21 to frickin' Nicholls

Has it only been 8 years? Why does it feel so much longer?

The amount of hate for Les on this board is amazing. The winningest coach in LSU football history lives rent free for all the wrong reasons in so many of y’all’s heads…

Good riddance. We had already endured a season's worth of grief, in only 4 games in 2016

He did again in that bowl game in 2015 that gave tRant false hope for 16

Looking back on some old posts, in 2010, LSU had a 4-0 record and were ninth in total defense and fifth in scoring defense in the NCAA! Unfortunately, the Tigers were #102 in total offense.

Saban turned Fournette from a Heisman candidate in 2015 to an object of pity, as Gary Danielson gushed praise over Derrick Henry, who became the Heisman frontrunner overnight
