Both things can be, and are, true. Firing Orgeron when they did is the only reason LSU didn’t sink completely into the abyss.

I agree.

That K State bowl game was the only time I have seen this site truly not give a shite about a loss.

O Can Recruit his arse OFF! Talent matters! Look at Texas and Ohio State and Georgia! How many times did Bobby Bowden Boast his players made him great. I’d love to have O on Staff with Frank Wilson and some new Coordinators and some really good line coaches. That would be cheaper than 80 million for Saban.

If EdO had done his job, he would still be HC at LSU, IMO. He did not do his job and let LSU fall into the abyss.

Wrong, and plenty of NFL draft worthy players returned.

When you hand a good ole baw millions of dollars after the age of 60, his first thought is cruising to retirement

We didn't like Charlie Mac because he couldn't beat the Bear.

We loved Saban, but he left us; so we hate him.

We don't like Les Miles, despite the National Championship.

We hate Ed Orgeron, despite the best team ever.

We hate Brian Kelly because he couldn't be Saban.

I think I see the problem...

There is zero reason we couldn’t have sustained the type of success a national championship naturally provides.
Name a team that lost the NFL talent and entire defensive coaching staff that LSU did only to have zero offseason to rebuild. And then tell me if that team went .500 in the best conference in football.

No reason my arse.

Of course then you hired a coach for $100m who immediately started chasing tail and putting in zero work.

Do you not yet understand what Woody did to Orgeron, in order to grease the skids to move him out.
Pelini was the mechanism.

Yes all he had to do was recruit and hire the best coordinators.

Had Woodward kept his arse out of the football program and not forced Pellini on O, the program would have been fine.

Woody hired Pelini, then sabotaged his 1st DC choice the next year and forced Orgeron to call around looking for an OC.

I can only imagine the roster coach O could put together in the days of NIL and the portal. Wish he would have gotten another year.

You MF’s will never get me to hate O.even though I never wanted him as a head coach, Im grateful for the one year that he orchestrated the greatest year I’ve ever had as an LSU fan. I still want him back in the role of recruiting only.
