Nobody's technique was worst than Kole Taylor.
Taylor was the exact same as Gilbert coming out of HS. And oversized WR that projected as a split out TE. However in HS his level of competition was extremely low and he never was very physical.
Now they are asking him to play on the LOS and take on DE/LBs, and that just isn't who his is.

Deculus struggled with several assignments too as well as poor technique.
Shhhhh! Don’t tell mmcgrath that or he will get mad at you, ask for evidence, and then ignore the evidence. Just let that poor man be.

Aren’t off-season workouts voluntary?

Championship caliber teams show up to work everyday. Slackers make fricking excuses. If our guys didn't show up for workouts then shame on them and on the coaching staff.

Gilbert did a better job of blocking last year. He may have not have wanted to block but that didn't show up on film. Gilbert did his job most times. But I totally agree on Taylor. He is soft & shies away from physical contact. He wants no part of it.

How can the line not know WTF to block? What is the head coach doing, exactly?
Knucklehead.

Say what you want.. But I think you guys hard on for O being a terrible coach is a little exaggerated, when it comes to Ingram statements. Like Bro, you're a 5th yr Senior!! Liam and Deculus as well. Blocking assignments I get. Max did say, willingly, that he slide a lot of protection the wrong way. But, being tired and out of shape... Like when do the players hold themselves accountable? You're not a freshman bruh. You're a Grown Man. Get off your arse and put in extra work. Like WTF..Its hard to accept those type of statements from a 5th year Sr. Nah bro!

10-30s
6 - 50s
4 - 100s
All at the end of practice....

I’m pretty sure as offensive linemen go, ours are not the sharpest tools in the shed. Otherwise they would have started figuring things out by now. Harvard guy gets a pass. He’s probably the rocket scientist in the group.

Deculus struggled with several assignments too as well as poor technique. Nobody's technique was worst than Kole Taylor. He had an awful angle on a pull block down inside the 10 on a run play that allowed too much penetration. He also had piss poor leverage at the point of contact.
That wasn't even his worst "block" though. On the play where Max Johnson threw the backwards pass, Taylor completely whiffed on his block. He looked like a clown grasping at air. It forced TDP to have to pick up the defender that Taylor missed which didn't allow TDP to help chip block another defender.
I saw the analysis. I think Ingram missed on both plays that you mention for Taylor as well, no? Regardless, there will be wiffs in some games. Overall the O-Line did well enough but we just missed on some opportunities. UCLA was a tougher opponent than many on this board thought and that game was basically their Super Bowl.

The buck stops with the guy making $8 million per year.
