Why do oddsmakers set odds?

The mystery of our time.

Yup. And I've also seen our starting defense only give up 20 combined points through 4 games.

I think the lsu defense will be too much for their offense to handle. This is a bad ole miss defense, just need to execute and not do anything stupid and we win comfortably imo.

Vegas has doubts about our offense but ignoring we went 4-0 with a hobbled nuss and when he finally looked like himself we put up 53.

If LSU benches the Right Tackle and starts someone else, I bet LSU would be favored. The right tackle Davis is not ready for the SEC, and I can careless what his high school star rating was.

Well they are home. People don’t believe in our offense and that’s fine with me. I’ve already said this will be a double digit win by LSU and they will finally acknowledge that Ole Miss is just bad on defense. They don’t have the athletes like last year and they can barely line up correctly. If Nuss is healthy, he will shred them. I think LSU wins 31-17

but I just can't objectively figure out why Ole Miss is the hot pick.

They are at home and our offense had been really bad against 3 of 4 opponents. And even the game where the offense moved the ball and scored, there were real issues on the O line.

Until the offense shows they can score more than 23 against real competition, we will continue to be picked against.

Fwiw, LSU ML has 30% of the bets but 70% of the money per Sports Betting Dime.

I hope so but not sure what signs you are seeing.

SLU consistently beat our o line with simple twists and stunts.

They’re the home team and LSU offense has been inconsistent…. Not that hard to understand.

This. Plus a lot of the analytical/predictive data finds LSU and Ole Miss to be comparable teams.

That said, LSU opened as the favorite. The action of the bettors pushed the line in favor of Ole Miss

This was Nuss after Southeasterns game. He knows what’s coming

Kelly wanted Nuss to play to set up the appearance of some tendencies that we will capitalize on if Ole Miss takes the bait.

LSU hasn’t won in Oxford since 2019.

So the last 2 games LSU has lost there. Hardly a stretch of Ls. LSU should have won in 2023.

Home field is good for a 3 point shift. Neutral site, we'd likely be 1.5 point favorites. They're basically calling it a coin flip.

Nothing to see here.

2021 was Coach O's last year, so the program as a whole was a disaster, and 2023 was House's fault. Put up 49 points and lost.

I heard on a podcast recently that LSU opened up as a 1.5 pt favorite and the line moved to OM -1.5. Is this accurate?

Betting has nothing to do with who the bookie thinks will win. They just want an even number of bets on both sides. If they get more on one side the spread moves. They just want the vig.
