There's a lot to laugh at in your post, but this is a classic:

quote:

This new offense is going to go up and down the field on them all night.

This new offense is probably going to look like a monkey friggin a football for the first half the season.

I think Herman and Ehlinger are good enough to manufacture 20-24 points. It will be up to LSU's offense to score more than that IMO.

Think back to Wisconsin 2016. That was the most confident I was in a big opener and it ended up being one of the biggest letdowns.

Wisconsin was better than us from start to finish that year.

Some Longhorn guy was on ESPN college radio on Sirius yesterday. He said Longhorns will play them tough since they have the best defensive backfield in the country... And it will come down to a field goal. I almost drove off the road

why? I expect a close game.

And their defensive backfield will have 3 sophomores, 1 junior and 1 senior. The "best in the country" seems like an exaggeration, but still.

You do realize the best player on OUR defense is likely to be a true freshman. New starters can kick arse, you know.

ETA: 4 of UT's defensive backfield starters after spring ball were 4*, and one was a 5*. They've got talent.

Will believe this "New" offense when i see it. until then, We have all heard that same old song for 10 years now.

if it goes like the past LSU will make the Texas Defense look like 11 all americans on the field and we will here excuses like

LSU was holding back for Alabama

Orgeron wouldn't let them run the Offense

LSU should have played Myles Brennan

and so on and so on

Hope this year we are finally not let down...but i have my doubts

They lost 9 starters on D and i don't think any of their projected starters on defense could make our 2 deep.

This new offense is going to go up and down the field on them all night. They might be decent but its going to take a few months to gel.

Burrow is much better than Ehlinger so we have the edge there as well.

I see this being a Miami style arse whipping. 28-3/31-3 at half.

It’s a game that we can win if we play good, physical, disciplined ball in all three phases. That being said, Texas will be no pushover especially in there own house. They probably have some confidence after handling Georgia in the sugar bowl also b

Not scared but they are capable. It’s a home game for them; they’re talented; they have an experienced quaterback/leader in Ehlinger.
Respect is not fear.

Fournette being hurt and our inability to adjust... completely blew up this game. Texas will be tough at home. But like Michigan this year they are overrated

It will be 40 and into OT

The Longhorns have made their way into the second half of the summer offseason program as Texas football gears up for Year 3 of the Tom Herman era.
Earlier this summer, the Longhorns welcomed all members of the No. 3 ranked 2019 signing class (excluding RB Derrian Brown, who is still recovering from a stroke he suffered in January), and have spent the first few months of their college careers in the weight room with head strength and conditioning coach Yancy McKnight.
Texas football enters the third year under Herman’s reign with added hype after the 2018 season ended with the program’s best record since 2009, which was capped off with an upset over Georgia to be crowned champions of the Allstate Sugar Bowl in the program’s first New Year’s Six Bowl game since the inception of the College Football Playoff. The Longhorns will be looking to replace a handful of starters from last year's roster, including eight on defense, but have a number of new bodies on campus who could fill the voids left from the 2018 departures.

Maybe it’s because Herman’s record in big games is something like 12-5. Yes he’s been upset 3 whole times in his career but when it comes to playing David he’s very dangerous.

Texas fans tell me their starters this year will be better than what they had....

They also believe they will 100% shut down the run game

How about this. Stop putting so much emphasis on a pre season ranking as the reasoning why the game will be close.

Same rational was attempted all off season for the LSU vs Miami game last year, how did that turn out?

upset 3 whole times in his career? just a few years ago at U of H he got upset 4x times in one year after beating OU: Navy, SMU, Memphis, and San Diego St. He has lost a lot of games at UT that UT was favored to win including lowly Maryland twice
