I'll be plainly honest, it would take an epic meltdown by LSU to even make this a game by the end, however, probably no matter what LSU does, our rushing defense wont look great after game 1, and expect some meltdowns

All it takes is 1 person to miss a tackle or assignment and BOOM, 64 yard TD run.

It's not that kind of option offense where there's a ton of cut blocking, it's shotgun based similar to New Mexico.

Well, that's good to hear.

If Chaisson gets hurt in game 1 again, I'd probably punch a wall like an angry teenager

This game will be closer than it should. We won't show anything with Texas the next week. The good news is that it is game 1 and not sandwiched between SEC games. We will win but I don't expect a coming out party.

Yes they do. Even our “cupcakes” aren’t really cupcakes. Utah State has a damn good team, even though they lose a lot, and GA Southern will be a damn good team as well. Only team with no pulse is Northwestern St.

He needs to get a lot of game action before Texas IMO.

But I see what you're saying.

Really looking forward to a heavy dose of Ika and Shelvin trying to blow up the middle of that line.

wow ... one thing is for certain ... we will NOT be leading the country in rush defense after week 1. We will likely be leading the country in pass defense, though.

45-24, us.

I expect LSU to steamroll Ga. Southern, but that offense can give you a little trouble if you don't have a good defensive plan in place. Players have to really play sound assignment football because one missed assignment and they would be off to the races.

shite, the citadel runs the same offense as GA southern. You know what they did against bama. Missed field goal at the end of the 1st half that would have either tied or put them up a couple.i forgot which one.

Did citadel run it under center or in the pistol like GA southern does?

That offense can be really fun to watch. It won't be successful often against teams that are considerably more talented than you, but when it's working, it's real pretty.

It reminds me in ways of the Malzahn mickey mouse offense with 4 guys in the backfield, several different run options and lots of eye candy for the defense...Auburn obviously uses it more to throw the ball and less of the triple option though.

I don't know why we scheduled these teams. They can actually win a game here or there against quality teams (or at least scare the shite of them). What is the upside? Who actually scheduled these games? The triple option...WTF?

It's the first game and Aranda has time to prepare for it. I don't think Orgeron will let us overlook them.
Chris Blair's former employer. Will Ed have Chris talk to the team about Georgia Southern's success vs bigger programs?

Ed Orgeron offense considering he hired Canada.

They aren't necessarily running the same stuff they were in years past. See some pistol formation. If we aren't ready, they will catch us. But don't see them outlasting us. Should pull away after a few groans.
