Does Alabama not recruit shooters?

We shot it better from the field than Bama last night.

Your post is crazy talk.

I mean you can say that about any team. Every team is going to have better stats out of conference because of a weaker schedule. Tough to take the easy games away from LSU but not for other teams. Facts are offense has never been a problem under Will Wade regardless of how bad it may look on tv, before this year

You still need to set good screens to free them up for clean looks, that isn’t a part of WW’s offensive philosophy. Last night Alabama ran back screens with skip passes that got their 2 outside shooters clean looks.

Hmm did you just start watching LSU basketball and missed the first 4 years Wade's tenure? That's all we had were shooters for the most part and little to no defense.

Recruit those 2 Missouri girls who shot 13 for 22 against the Lady Tigers.

I don't really follow basketball at all much less the recruiting. But if it keeps trending up, I think it'll be easier to get recruits here. If I had to guess, big time shooters are going to other BB schools.

Yeah, how were those statistics vs top competition? Honestly asking

Season statistics vs top teams

Wade has produced some of the most efficient offensive teams in the entire nation over the last few years. From our projected opening night lineup, LSU is currently missing both guards and we played the second half without a 3rd starter in Days. Quite frankly, we are running low on options. Justice is still supposed to be in high school right now and didn't even get to practice and play during nonconference because of injury, but we are having to lean on him for important minutes. O'Neal is getting his first minutes in an entire year because of injury and still trying to get reps in our new defense. We've seen growth in Murray. Gaines has had some promising flashes in clutch time. Mwani has become a confident shooter from the corner. Hopefully Reid can build some confidence in the offensive pick and roll when we are in the easier part of our SEC schedule. We are not going to be an elite offensive team this year, but if we can just be a competent offensive team that minimizes turnovers down the stretch, that may be all we need to make a good run with how elite our defense is.

2021 Offensive Efficiency national ranks
vs All: #5
vs Top 50 teams: #14

2020
vs All: #4
vs Top 50: #6

2019

It’s really actually hard to find pure shooters. I know most of you know it all’s will disagree, but they aren’t a dime a dozen like some people think

Ever heard of Adam Miller? He would have fit the bill had he not suffered a season-ending injury in the offseason. Keep up or don’t post.

Can you link to where you pulled statistics?

I looked at a few statistic sites and they had LSU far lower in 2021-2022. What’s good site to drill down on basketball.

Example

This has LSU offensive efficiency at 124th and 10th in 2020.

He doesn’t

And a PG that can score but would rather pass first would do wonders for his offense

Within WW’s offense, he would need a Larry Bird, Steph Curry or Reggie Miller ( which are hard to come by ) who is not only a pure shooter but can knock down shots with people in their face. Totally agree about the PG, would rather a great distributor of the ball, it would do wonders for this offense.

In 2022, at any given time, you should have 3 guys that can knock down the 3 on the floor. It doesn’t have to be Larry bird. But at some point maybe you sacrifice some athleticism for skill

With the exception of Gaines, LSU’s top 9 players in terms of minutes are shooting better than 30% from 3. 6 of those better than 33%. 3 better than 40%

I do think he is bringing in this Ree kid who is suppose to be a 3 point guy.

Also think Justice needs to look more for 3's than driving in right now, he has a good looking jumper.

Yeah because the previous 3 years where we had an even lower assist rate offense than this year we really struggled on the offensive end

People claiming we suddenly need to become a princeton offense, pass the ball 20 times before we take a shot every time or have a PG average 7 assists a game clearly havent paid attention to the team in the previous few years.

The biggest issue this year is (one of) our best offensive players has been out the whole season in Adam Miller. On top of that, in SEC play, we've been missing our starting PG for 3 of the 6 games and our starting SG for another one of those 6 games. We've been missing major pieces to this team this year in key areas unfortunately. Losing Miller was a gigantic blow to the offense, pretty much everything they expected to run through him on that end.

Devin Ree is a big time 3 point shooter. At 6'8 no less. Think of him as a Days replacement just much skinnier. Dude loves to shoot the 3 ball and shoots it very well.
