Same can be said for the regional.

Get it through your thick skull, there are no better teams. We are the best team in the nation. All year long.

To win in college baseball. You need an offense, two ace starting pitchers and one stopper.

You tell me if LSU has all that.

Yes, we do have all that. Moreso than any other team in the nation, we have that.

I’ll play along. What team has that?

IMO Floyd’s postseason starts will be the key. If he pitches well in his postseason outings, I think we’re winning it all. If he doesn’t, then maybe not.

If we win the first 2 in Omaha, I don’t see someone beating us twice, and then it’s on to the championship series.

2 aces would be great, but hardly any team has that.

And the SEC tourney, and the regional. And that's the danger.

Arkansas sold out to match Skenes, then roughed up our bullpen. Problem for them, they didn't have anything left for the next 2 games.
But in those postseason settings, we don't get a rematch unless it's someone from the loser's bracket doing it to us. We might be knocked into the loser's bracket by someone, and then face a fairly rested team on a normal rotation.

How much better can you get? They’re tenths of percentage points away from the best in the nation.

Would have lost to who?

#2 Wake, lost a Friday game to Pitt, beat Coastal, and has played nobody since.

#3 South Carolina, 4-2 in their last 6 conference games.

#4 Florida, 3-3 in their last 6 conference games.

#5 Vandy, 3-3 in their last 6 conference games.

#6 Coastal, went 4-3 in their last 7 games. All unranked except Wake, which they lost.

#7 Arkansas, went 3-3 in their last 6 conference games.

#8 Stanford, went 4-2 in their last 6 conference games.

OR, #1 LSU, went 6-0 in their last 6 conference games.

Who exactly are we supposed to be afraid of?

I'm thinking YOU need to pay attention.

Someone from the big 12 and ACC or Pack 12 of a combination at Omaha. Just spitballing here. Not sure it happens before Omaha. If it is windy and they have a pitcher that pitches to contact, it can happen. It is the pitchers after Skenes that concern me.

We have the best offense in the nation. If it's a windy day, our opponent's hitters have to bat in that same wind. I'll take our guys all day.

I will say we did have Edwards and Shores for the two best series out of the pen. Lineup has been amazing though.

What is their status?

Shores is out this year and most of next year with a torn UCL. He will have, or has already had, Tommy John surgery. I'm not sure about Edwards.

Hard to go wire to wire. Pitching needs to keep improving if we want to win CWS

LSU needs to stay out of the loser's bracket, because I don't think we have the pitching to win if you add extra games.
You have to figure Skenes, then 2 guys for game 1. Game 2 and 3 will be 4 guys minimum. Game 4 will be wild, and if there's a game 5 we're probably going to see position guys.

You say other teams will be in the same shape, but not necessarily so. Someone else might get 6+ innings from a second starter, while we're probably not getting more than 4 at the most.

You do realize LSU has played some of those “better” teams and won?

Dude. LSU has 21 pitchers on its roster. I don't think we will be sending out position guys.
