Rankings are relative to other teams, so yes.

I guess it is all relative... and everyone is relatively down.
In a different year, I would say we are NOT top 10.

This year, I don't think we are world beaters. I think Defense is suspect and thin... but we have an offense that is capable, and I think that makes us top 10, right now... not because we are good, but because everyone is suspect.

And we haven’t beaten a single team worth a shite.

USCw was a season opener when we were still trying to figure out who our starters are. USCe got stomped by the team that got beat by the team that USCe stomped. See how hard it is to project game to game?

LSU has a lot of questionable areas. The reality is, so do a lot of other top 10 teams. Until proven otherwise it's Texas, Ohio St and then everyone else. We could easily lose 3-4 games the rest of the way or finish on a win streak. There is little margin for error, but as it stands we are right in the mix and if the new starters can step up and the coaches can scheme appropriately, we have a very good shot at the playoffs.

There’s Texas and OSU

I agree that they both “look” good but who have they beaten with a pulse?

UT
Colorado State
Michigan (best win but dulled now)
UTSA
ULM
MSU (struggled for 2.5 qtrs)

OSU
Akron
W Michigan
Marshall
Mich State (equivalent to SEC MSU)
Iowa (best win but at home)

I thought we were a playoff caliber team with probably 2 losses this season but now I have no idea what to think because none of our wins are impressive and the Southern Cal loss just looks worse and worse. Every SEC has a loss outside of us, Texas, and Aggie. That’s insane considering it’s early October.

If you can’t watch other teams objectively, just say that. Idk if I’ve seen a lot of teams have a better offense than us.

This whole BK hate thing has y’all blind. We are in a way better place than you all think

Maybe not 100%, but I’d give em over 75%, based on what I’ve seen from us so far this season:

Texas
Bama
UGA
OSU
Penn St
Oregon
Ole Miss
Arky
AnM
UK
Michigan
Miami
Tennessee
USC (already did it once)

And basically any team that has fast receivers, tight ends with decent hands, a semi-accurate QB, and a decent pass block. Look, we are HORRIBLE in coverage, guys. Let’s slow our role until we can knit up the middle of the field and confidently man-up on the corner deep routes.

No.

We lost a mediocre Trojan team we should have beaten and struggled to prevail over a subpar Gamecock squad. Our defense is porous and our offensive run game and red zone execution are inconsistent. We commit too many penalties, playcalling is erratic, special teams are prone to blunders, and we forever start big games slowly. We would have to improve significantly to qualify as a top ten team.

If you're asking if LSU will be top 10 in the final playoff rankings, it's unlikely. But there are a lot of pretenders out there. You don't know what your team is until at least week 10.

Penn State, UK, and Miami would not beat us. Well maybe Miami with the help of refs. UK has the worst QB in the SEC and Allar for Penn State is awful.

That's really where we're at. Ole Miss rocked USCe and now everyone is back to questioning if LSU is a Top 10 or playoff team. Beat OM Saturday and suddenly everyone jumps back on the bandwagon.

So the only question is, do we beat Ole Miss next week?

Never seen a bunch of fans jump off the deep end during a bye week but, just like Nick Saban said, LSU fans suffer from catastrophe syndrome and always looking for the dark spot on an otherwise white cloud…smh!
