Sexual assault investigation may send him packing.

I don't think he'll be our head coach at the start of the 2022 season.

Based on how the investigations into the sexual assault allegations pan out, there is an increasingly likely chance he's let go (with cause) after this season. It's indisputable that Woodward wants to bring in his own guy and make his mark on the program. The sexual assault claims may be a way to do it a bit earlier than expected.

If not, then a season with 4+ losses next year will get him fired.

If he is, I will not be watching. I know a lot of others that feel the same way.

You can’t know that because you don’t know how LSU will perform next season. This year may be a mulligan but next year will not be.
In all likelihood he will survive next year if there is significant improvement to 8-4 or better. I doubt that happens.

I hate poster on here, rolling with him in 2019 but not giving credit on what he built. Then after the opt outs, no practices on a new defence, loss of 2 coordinators, you are wanting him gone, not so fast sunny boy .I don't see anyone else I would want anyway. GeauxTiger! frick you!

I hope it gets better, I think his chances are 50/50. Unfortunately I do not see 8 and 4 next year, I see 7 and 5 tops maybe 8 and 5 with a Bowl win.

By "giving him credit for what he built,", do you mean holding him responsible for the shite show we have in the football program today?

Coach Brady and Coach Arranda

You honestly believe that Brady could turn Finley and Johnson, into Burrow and Brennan this season?
That Aranda could make this defense competitive?
Hell it was the offense that outscored every opponent through the first half of the season, last year. Even Vandy moved the ball on that Aranda defense.
Without Burrow, Chase, Jefferson, Moss, and Helaire there is no way we would have beaten Texas, Ole Miss,
Florida, nor Auburn.
A&M scored fewer points on the Pelini defense than the Aranda defenses in 18 and 19.
You guys are clueless. It was the players.

this year has been the most unlucky LSU football season ever. From stingley in game 1, to Brennan, to the Pelini hire, to COVID opt outs. Etc etc.

Who knows

Coach O proved me wrong last year by having the best ever season in LSU history. Never thought he could do that

He has proven me wrong again this year by having one of the worst seasons in LSU history. Never thought he would do that either

This season is a direct result of what happened last season. If he was just a little worse coach last year, maybe lose a couple games, we would have a lot of guys back who left.

Also his “iron sharpens iron” practicing good v good all year last year, was at the expense of reps for backups. but guess what, we don’t have a year like last if O doesn’t decide to practice like that.

The "Never O's" have had to sulk for a year while CEO won. One lost last year & they would have called for his head.
I say he is coach in 2 years when these incoming freshmen are ready to start.

His offseason moves will help determine his fate. He was hired b/c the binder said he would get top OC and DC and let coach.

It's pretty clear that neither the OC or DC are perceived as great. In fact I don't think any major power 5 program would hire either one.

How many colleges can pay over 2 million for their DC? Bc that’s what I it took for Pelini. Laughable to assume that he wouldn’t get hired by anyone else if he was willing to come for a price within other schools budget. There’s only a handful who could even come close to what it would take to land him.

People keep floating this but it isn’t going to work out like some of you hope. If there is enough ironclad evidence to actually fire Orgeron with cause and not pay him a buyout, then this program is in the toilet for 2-3 years minimum. If he knew everything and documentation of it is found, then it’s nuclear winter time. O may be gone without paying a dime, but the team will be burnt to the ground and no one worth a damn will take the job on the heels of this.

Do any of you really hate O enough to wish for this to happen? It is a possibility, but I sure as hell hope it doesn’t come to this.

If the administration tries to force O out “with cause” without some damning evidence against him, then he would sue and get paid a settlement to go away. Even Briles tried to sue Baylor and they had all the evidence and cause in the world. Any coach fired with cause is going to fight if they have any leg to stand on. Without a legitimate smoking gun, he still gets paid. This situation isn’t going to be some buyout magic wand that some of you think it will be.

The most likely scenario if the administration decides to move on from Orgeron after this investigation is a negotiated buyout for a lower amount where everyone signs NDAs and goes their separate ways. That avoids the courtroom and any potential for drama. But at the end of the day, he still has to be paid a lot of money to go away.

Baylor hired two hot names and went to a NY6 bowl last year.
Their coach was so good he got hired by a decent NFL Franchise

Penn ST got hammered and hired 2 good coaches and until this year had been the 2nd best Big Ten team over the last 5 years

Ole Miss had 2 down years then hired a really good coach and will be back to where they were with Freeze in a couple years if Kiffen stays

Are you kidding? Miles was crap his last 5 years and it still took dynamite to get him out of town. We’re stuck with O until 2030. Deal with it.
