Do we even know that JJ is on the hot seat?

Look I agree that JJ needs to go, but their has been zero, word or rumors from insiders. For all we know they might not have any intentions of firing Jones. It took 2 terrible seasons to get Johnson run off. He was a outsider, JJ is a legacy, one of Dale and Temple's boys. If they still have sway with the program it will likely take more than just terrible season to do it.

Again I think he should have been run off a long time ago, but the fact remains the signs or rumors of his firing just aren't there yet. With Miles I think everyone knew after the Auburn game that he was gone.

Fans will make it ugly if they keep him for next season

Hate to say it, but I am not even sure basketball is high enough on most fan's radar to generate rumors any more.....damn shame, really.

A necessary question that needs to be answered. I am fearful of nothing happening b/c of the ineptitude and short sited vision of the administration. This isn't about one bad year but a total lack of direction or enthusiasm about the program- a change needs to be made.

What if they are really content riding the program further into the ground for one more year?

As long as Alleva is still here, he can't differentiate between hot seats and cold seats because his arse is also hot as hell.

It really is and its down right embarrassing.
I remember going to the PMAC and seeing my first game in person in 1986. Yeah it was only against Southeastern but damn I was in the building where I used to see Mike come out of the ceiling against Kentucky on TV. I was sitting there live seeing John Williams, Derrick Taylor, Don Redden, Anthony Wilson play for the Tigers. That team started 14-0 and was one of the best until chicken pox ravaged the team. It was exciting seeing them go to DC and undermanned giving Georgetown everything and more before losing. Seeing a 11 seed beat a good Purdue team and then beat Memphis with 7ft Nathan Bedford, Georgia Tech with 7ft John Salley and then Kentucky with all world Kenny "Sky" Walker while using a 6'6" freshman at center. LSU fans loved the basketball program in them days. It sad to see what the program has devolved into.

That is why IMO they absolutely need a young energetic guy. I would even put this as a priority over X's and O's. Hire some assistant who knows everything technical with the game but they need a face of the program.

. I think it is entirely possible that he won't get fired. I don't think that is likely but definitely possible. Just remember who our AD / pres are.

Yeah it's not if but when. No athletic dept in the NCAA can find this acceptable.

. Agreed. Been saying this for a while now. It is abundantly clear that LSU including the vast majority of its fans and alumni don't really give a crap about basketball or we wouldn't be in this mess. There was absolutely no point in keeping jones on after last year. They intentionally threw this year away and it's baffling unless you agree that they just don't care.

He's gone after this season, unless he can somehow get worse. If it gets even worse, he'll be gone before.

No we don't and I wouldn't be surprised if he keeps his job. Alleva is killing our athletic program and needs to go.

An empty PMAC is a pretty good initial sign. When the fans stop caring and attending games, a firing is imminent. We're just waiting to see how long the Delicate Genius's can hold out..........

C'mon, man. I have about as much chance being the LSU men's basketball coach next year as Johnny Jones.
