Any good AD would quietly have feelers out there gauging interest in prospective coaches.

I do think the admins are dying for a late season run so that they don't have to do this. Hell we were picked 12th in the conference with Victor on the roster. IMHO a nod not to relative talent but what everyone saw happen last year. And 12th looks like a pipe dream now.

It is at this point inevitable even given the apathy.

Agree with the Cool #9. Even Alleva and King can read this handwriting on the wall.

For what it's worth, I don't live that far from Lubbock and went to today's game, a painful experience. I spoke with seven or eight Tiger fans and all of us agreed without any hesitation that Johnny must go after this season ends, if not sooner.

Yeah, man. Let JJ coach out his contract and then kill the basketball program because LSU won't hire a much better coach. Just fold that shite up. How do you watch any part of 2015/2017 & believe he won't be fired? How come Victor got released and not Simmons?

I think like some of the football dismissals Les, was school policy and not coaches choice that forced the dismissals. That's my take on it. I don't think CJJ had a choice there.

Alleva would rather keep Johnny than be held hostage in negotiations. He made LSU look like a bitch when we have an equal if not better football program and conference than Texas

It really is and its down right embarrassing.
I remember going to the PMAC and seeing my first game in person in 1986. Yeah it was only against Southeastern but damn I was in the building where I used to see Mike come out of the ceiling against Kentucky on TV. I was sitting there live seeing John Williams, Derrick Taylor, Don Redden, Anthony Wilson play for the Tigers. That team started 14-0 and was one of the best until chicken pox ravaged the team. It was exciting seeing them go to DC and undermanned giving Georgetown everything and more before losing. Seeing a 11 seed beat a good Purdue team and then beat Memphis with 7ft Nathan Bedford, Georgia Tech with 7ft John Salley and then Kentucky with all world Kenny "Sky" Walker while using a 6'6" freshman at center. LSU fans loved the basketball program in them days. It sad to see what the program has devolved into.

Purdue had 7ft Joe Barry Carrol and we lost in the semis in Dallas to Louisville with 7ft "Never Nervous" Pervis Ellison. Oh and that 6'6" freshman has a name. Ricky Blanton balled out that year. I really thought that was our year and as a student was lucky enough to go to Atalanta and Dallas, the first round was in Baton Rouge, and remember being up by 8 at half in Dallas until the baws just ran out of gas

Same reason Honey Badger got released, Ben just didn't go to class. Huge difference

JJ was spotted at Walmart yesterday by a close sauce buying a Trapper Keller and some old Justin Wilson DVD's. His job is safe.

ANYONE who loses 10-15 games in a row to end the season should be gone - no matter what the circumstances. Bottom line is without Craig Victor this team is well below average and not competitive. Jones should have had a backup plan and he didn't. We have become the laughing stock of the SEC in basketball for 2017. For recent evidence the Texas Tech game with the pass to player on TT bench. That's sad....

Alleva looked particularly unhappy at the Florida game. Seemed that way anyway. Of course if the man has a pulse he wouldn't be too happy. So that shouldn't say much

There's no hot seat; just an execution chamber. The season will end and then JJ's career at LSU will end. While what's happening is not acceptable, fans and donors get a lot more riled up when the football team loses. The timing of Miles' firing allowed the team to salvage the season, but you had some capable interim people. That can't be said for the MBB program. You are going to need to make a totally fresh start.

We have Randy Livingstin who coached a team to a D-league title which is more impressive than anything Johnny Jones has ever done. And unlike football there's always a chance albeit sometimes extremely slim that you can get hot win your conf tourney and get into the NCAA tourney. So this theory that there's nothing to play for and there was when we fired Leslie is 100% false. You also don't want players so discouraged that they make up their mind before the season is done that they're out if here nomatter what hapoens next. If your interim coach can come in and spread hope and get some momentum you can stop players from leaving and encourage recruits too.

I know everyone knows Alleva is a monumental loser and doesn't know what he's doing but I'm not sure most of us realize just how bad things are. Our admin is the biggest joke in the country. Not the sec not the power 5 not D1 the entire country.
