Are these new bats supposed to be the equivalent to wooden bats?

They f'king suck. Don't ruin the game, but change it dramatically. Everyone should bring the fences in 15-20'

the 09 bats were a perfect mix. I don't remember there being any major accidents or deaths due to those bats.

I think the old bats was too amped up. But they went down to much. I am hearing that they will make the ball better. So the home runs will go up some soon.
Right, rather than admit they dumbed down the bats too much, they're gonna tweak something else instead of the obvious solution of somewhat reversing the bat restrictions.

Some argue they're worse than wooden bats.

It's a little frustrating, but considering safety was one of the big reasons they went to them, I can live with it.

I don't get the safety reason. Were people getting knocked out?

A few pitchers got hit real good, along with some base coaches.

Well, yeah, but even throwing out tonight's crap, you can't sit here and tell me that 09 was not a shitton more entertaining than this.

I mean, look I was right. It took an error and some walks to score a run. Didn't even hit the fricking ball.

Yeah. That one inning represents every run we've scored in this regional.

Arizona (the champs from last year) had a saying. It was (H.O.G.S.). It stood for hard on the ground swings- basically feeding into the "let's pray for errors, walks, and seeing-eye singles" reality.

Seriously. Go back and watch a game from 09. It's drastically different. There were actually *gasp* Doubles to the wall and hits.

The fact that 99% of the time a team bunts with no outs and a runner on first is a testament to how shitty they've made the game.

The sad part is that with the new CBA for MLB, more talent will come to college (Bregman and Skye Bolt come to mind). This should be ushering in a new era of popularity for the sport that desperately needs it. Unfortunately, these bats will never attract a crowd. I'm a huge MLB fan and baseball fan, and it's difficult to watch LSU, let alone watch any other teams.

You mean the HRS turned into lazy fly balls?
