Tim Collins is a pretty good pitcher.
Billy Wagner was ok.
Darwin Barney is 5'10 and won the Gold Glove last year.

Johnny Giovatella was a 2B for UNO a few years back and was one of (if not the) best hitter in the state when he was at UNO. Maybe you should check his stats. Now plays in the Royals organization.

Mike Fontenot and Bruce Sprowl were both pretty good players at LSU.

Just saying that 5'7 guys used to not even get a look at baseball until these bats.

You're comments are so ignorant it is laughable.

And Ryan Schimpf led the 2009 CWS Champions with 22 homeruns and was drafted in the fifth round of the 2009 MLB draft. He is listed at 5'9" 181.

And care to guess how tall Mason Katz actually is:

The Cajuns catcher in the picture is listed at 6'1" on their roster.

Like I said, they were the EXCEPTIONS. Most were 5'10 and taller.

5'8 and 5'7 guys are not usually good enough with he bat to be impact players unless they're playing with these bats.

Neither one of those guys was 5'11".

I like how you don't make any comments about any of the other guys listed.

Pretty much everything you have said in both of your threads today has been beyond retarded.

You need to look up the word "EXCEPTION." I didn't say they couldn't be good, just that typically they're not given a look unless they're an extraordinary player, which the guys you listed were.

We have these bats because they are the closest thing to real baseball bats without breaking (saving teams thousands of dollars). It is also because it makes the game more like real baseball where great fielding and good managing are important.

It allows pitchers to use the entire plate without the fear of a homerun being hit off the handle of the bat. It also will save a ton of arms from pitchers not trying to overthrow. Changing the ball to a little more lively ball would be the safest and most logical solution.

I would like to add that because these bats make the college game more like the maps that we are going to see a lot more major league caliber players like Bregman don a a Tiger uniform.

honestly just go to wood bats. Nothing beats a solid piece of wood. Also change the ball to the ones the pro's use.

that argument left the building when bats crossed the $250 thresh hold.. .and became more fragile..ie losing pop with end cap problems..

The sad part is that with the new CBA for MLB, more talent will come to college (Bregman and Skye Bolt come to mind). This should be ushering in a new era of popularity for the sport that desperately needs it. Unfortunately, these bats will never attract a crowd. I'm a huge MLB fan and baseball fan, and it's difficult to watch LSU, let alone watch any other teams.

Had he not been hurt - bregman that is... he would have been drafted in the first round... and never shown up here to wear purple and gold... him being here has very little to do with CBA....

funny another team hit 9 home runs this weekend in a regional..hmmm....

While I still enjoy the game, it's like watching basketball with a 12 ft rim.
