Recruit Murray and Adam Miller hard ….. the rest can be processed.

Add O’Neal to that list. He did some nice things this year

Playing time.

Gaines, Murray, Mwani, and Miller will be able to go almost anywhere and get minutes. Guys like Fudge, Justice Williams, and Efton Reid would get a lot of attention due to their potential. Maybe even throw Colbert in there.

That leaves Ezewiro, who most thought would transfer out anyway, Shareef, and the walk ons. There's no incentive to stay.

Depends on NIL opportunities for Reid and Murray. We seem to be behind the game on that.

Fudge has has serious upside. I don't see too many guys that long that can run and jump like that.. Some thing is missing.. he mishandles a lot of passes.. Reid is going to be a an every night NBA player. He needs time, muscle, and confidence...but you cant teach 7 foot with feet.

Not to sound too negative, but I don’t think either of these guys are going to be NBA level or even consistently good in college.

Fudge has tons of athleticism but very little actual basketball skill. Like you said he can barely handle passes, much less handle the ball. Maybe in a limited role he can be solid for us.

I’m not sure what Reid you watched, but his feet are not an asset. He’s slow as hell. Which is ok if you’re a good interior defender and great rebounder, but I don’t think he can do either of those things at a very high level. I don’t know his metrics per 36 but his rebounding seems pretty average for a big man and his defending is atrocious.

If he stays 3-4 years then maybe I could see him becoming a contributor, but he won’t be a rotation player in the NBA unless he lands on a tanking team for a year or two.

One thing that people forget it’s not an unlimited transfer, it’s a one time transfer and Miller used his. With this hire I think Gaines, Miller, fudge, Reid, and Wilkerson stays. Murray is the unknown

Yeah Reid is not an every night NBA player. If he makes it to the NBA he’s not going to be a starter. Possibly bench depth when he’s young which is respectable for sure. But he’s more of an overseas and 10 day contract type of player. I only say that because you are talking about the best of the best when talking NBA. Not to say Reid can’t improve but guys don’t just get to the NBA because they’re 7 ft and have some basic skills.

Do players really play to win a championship anymore or just play to get drafted higher? No guarantee you go to the blue bloods and win a championship. Now it’s probably who pays the player more to come to their school.

Miller can’t transfer without sitting unless he gets a waiver and he might.

And I love Mwani but I wouldn't be upset if he left.

Why? He's probably the best on ball defender on the team.

He still has a redshirt to burn to play right away if he wanted to. Plus with sanctions most likely the NCAA grants everyone a free transfer.

transfer portal + postseason ban most likely means a complete roster turnover
Transfer portal doesn't mean nearly as much as the one-time free transfer. They aren't the same thing.

I love him but he can't consistently create his own shot. His last 8 or so games shooting were also terrible. It's hard to continue to play a 5 PPG player big minutes despite his defensive ability. If he stays, there is no doubt that we should expect massive offensive improvement. We need him at about 10 to 12 PPG the rest of his career
