I really think it's the new Box. I'll probably get bashed but that's just me. The new Box lacks a lot of the energy and character that the old Box had. A game like that at the old Box would have been crazy. The crowd would have been rocking.

this!! frick the new box

Did anyone watch the Alabama, Arkansas game Thursday night on ESPNU? They could not have been 200 people in the entire stadium!

There was a good crowd last night. LSU does not care, they sold out for the season...

oh shove it up your arse. The only thing keeping many if not all tiger fans from calling the old box a pile of shite is nostalgia. New box is bigger and better than the old box ever was.

Two years ago I decided to go to Tuscaloosa for the bama baseball series. I wanted to make sure I could get decent seats so I called the bama ticket office.

When I asked the lady who answered the phone if there were good seats available she started laughing. I was afraid that meant the answer was no until she said, "Honey, you can sit in the dugout if you want to."

There were more LSU fans in the stands than gumps.

If they see Kentucky, they think Kentucky..even though they have been good the past 2 seasons.

Arkansas, Alabama, South Carolina, Florida, Georgia, Miss St, Ole Miss.

Those are the names they see, and think "this may be a good series, let me scoop up some tickets".

But I thought LSU had the most knowledgable baseball fans in the universe.....

It's because they changed the music.

I've always seen people selling tickets around the circle in front...It took me more than 30 minutes to sell my 3 bleacher seats in the hayfield lots last night. Everyone wants grandstands

I'm surprised you could sell them at all.

You can't even see the players if you sit in the hayfield lot bleachers!

New bats have a lot to do with the change in energy you described. They took away the you never know what can happen next excitement from college baseball.

No, they didn't. They took away some homeruns. The game is still just as exciting as it ever was.

No, but you can sit pretty close to your car so that you can be one of the first to leave and beat the traffic in the 5th inning.

I highly doubt that having a nice new stadium keeps people away compared to an old piece of crap.

Haven't read through the thread so I'm sure this already got attention, but...

GTFO with this shite.

Agreed. Used tp be a season ticket holder but gave them up a number of years ago due to the growing family. I try to pick up seats for several prime games each year (youngest daughter loves BB) but tickets on Stubhub have been crazy expensive this year...haven't made a gme yet. Kills me to see empty seats when there are many in my position.

Seriously...go to the ticket window and buy SRO tix and fill those empty seats. Or there are tix available at almost any tailgate. There's absolutely no reason at all you have to be in "your position".

In all seriousness, the reason for the lack of a good crowd is that we aren't as hungry as we were last year. And the games have been less exciting. We have steamrolled almost everyone. Kind of unheard of. Once it gets to the end of the season/regional play, the crowds will pick up. People are thirsty for Omaha, last year we were thirsty for a regional host.

To have over 7 thousand actually in the stands for a college baseball game is incredible-- and, over 8 thousand last night!!! And, this in south Louisiana where we LOVE to party--- this just doesn't happen even in bum-frick Arkansas-- where there is NOTHING else to do on a week-end but attend tent revival meetings...
