stated the obvious, of course. oline was really bad for spring game.

our offense needs a good offensive line to be productive. none of our qb's had time. McMillan handled the pressure better, but what would it have looked like with full contact?

yeah, our 2 projected starting tackles were out, and traore looked too slow getting off the snap. worst thing detillier said was that center was really bad. best thing was that we are really strong at guard.

well, good news is that some guys will be back for the fall and we have the fall to improve. last year the oline got much better by the middle of the season, and except for losing Clapp, we have better talent. no doubt we'd look much better already if clapp had come back.

I hope and pray coach Kregg can get these boys in shape by the start of the season. I am still optimistic, but obviously we'd all feel better if they had looked better at the end of spring.

OL is honestly the least of my worries. Don’t really care how they looked in spring.

Orgeron at the Houston stop yesterday said they are penciling in Deculus at RT as a starter which surprised me considering he looked really rough in limited snaps last year and missed this entire spring. Not a very glowing review on Traore and Magee fighting for that spot.

I think OL will be a strength. We will certainly need them to be.

Traore may not even see the field. Dec at RT and Charles should be able to get back LT spot, now that he is back.... need whole line to work out the kinks before the season starts. Think Miami will be a great test

That'd be really interesting seeing as he was being billed as the crown jewel of this class.

Traore really did struggle this spring, could just be adjustment from JUCO to SEC caliber players. Big speed difference, Lewis obviously didnt have much trouble but interior way different than edge, especially when you're trying to block Chaisson, Moore, Thornton, Divnity.

In other words, he said what Semjase has been saying on here for years!

I post mostly early morning so don't how many see my OL Rants.

The talent aint there folks. Not even close. Doubt if any of our OL starters could make the Bama 2 deep.

Takes much more than just size and strength.

Damien Lewis may be serviceable and Cole Smith will be a good Center in time, (After he gains 25 pounds of muscle) but overall it's not what LSU needs to be successful as we all want.

The deficit can only be remedied through recruiting. Search the USA for high schools that traditionally throw the ball a lot and are successful at it. Recruit their OL's.

The Saints renovated their OL and are kicking butt over night. Didn't take long. Unger brought in at Center in the Graham trade. Peat drafted 1st round, then Ram in the 1st last year. Now they just drafted Florida State OL Rick Leonard in the 4th and then Will Clapp in the 7th.

Tigers need to do what the Saints have been doing and they'll turn it around fast. Gotta put the cart before the horse!. No way around that. Doesn't matter how good the QB and WR's are if the OL talent is not there........

Why would you think the OL would be a strength? What evidence points to that?

I don’t get it

Deculus wasn’t read last fall.

Didn’t play this Spring

But O keeps trotting him out there.

I think Ultimately we end up with

Charles Lewis brumsfield Ingram Magee.

But we’ll probably play a Deculus initially.

well, they sucked in the spring game. and that damn sure worries me. right now, i'm less concerned with our QB's than with our OL. but I am really interested in the reasons you are not concerned with them. hopefully you know your stuff and not just some of the posters on here than don't know shite

What’s concerning is that it wasn’t a matter of missing assignment and blocking the wrongs guys...

We just got whipped on a lot of blocks.

I dont Think Neil Farrell is elite, but if he played like an all American in that game.

There is talent. Unfortunately it just doesn't seem to be well dispersed. LSU has long had great interior O lineman. The problem is that they have seemingly struggled to find keep and/or develop Tackle prospects. This year seems to be no different. We may have too many guards and too few tackles. Hopefully Deculus is ready to go, because Trahore looked stuck in the mud vs. Chassion and the other pass rushers.

Draft stat of the day: 47. The number of times I counted #LSU OC Will Clapp on the ground through three game tapes. That's not ideal.

As usual, people had unrealistic expectations but a juco OL is not the jewel of the class.

This would be my group as well. I thought Magee did good last season and fine in the Spring game. So hope Brumfield can solidify the center position.
